Hirundo wdc 1026. the door lock light is rapidly blinking and won't unlock. I've tried setting every thing to off, running a dry only load but then the wash knob will start to spin and it just keeps clicking around the circle over and over. I can't get my clothes out, the door just will not unlock!

LID LOCK LIGHT STAYS ON NO START:

Usually either the lid lock mechanism, the lid lock actuator or the board is the culprit even a disconnected capacitor.

MACHINES SAIDS SENSING
When the START button is pressed, the washer will first perform a self-test on the lid lock mechanism. You will hear a click, the basket will make a slight turn, and the lid will unlock briefly before locking again. Once the lid has locked the second time, the washer
will slowly spin the dry load to estimate the load size, and begin adding water. The washer will then move the load briefly, pause to allow water to soak in to the load, and resume adding water. This process may repeat until the correct amount of water has been
added for the load. You may also hear water flowing through the dispenser, adding detergent to the load.

NOTE: The sensing light may also come on during the Soak and Wash portions of the cycle. This is normal.

Try unplugging the cord a couple of times. See what happens then try going into diagnostic error codes, see what codes are shown. To pin point where the problem is. if you have no display to read the fault codes. Your main control board may be the issue.

Next, while in Manual diagnostics, try to get the unit to spin; if the motor hums for a split second and then shuts down with the lid lock blinking; go back into diagnostic codes and look for shifter or speed sensor errors.
This is proof that the shifter/sensor actuator assembly is the issue because the optical sensor is not reading the motor speed.

I suggest unplug the washer and check the wire connections on the switch. If a meter is available then you can check the resistance (ohms) of the lock motor.

Note: After performing the manual test and the lid lock works perfectly, or at least as it is supposed to. You can eliminate that as the problem. If the lock worked in the manual test but doesn't in an actual cycle then I suspect the control board is at fault.

A safety feature found on front load washing machine is the door switch and the door lock and strike. On most models, the door switch must be closed and the door lock must be activated before the washer will start. The switch is normally located in the door frame of the washing machine, but may also be part of the door lock assembly. Inspect the strike to make sure that it engages the door lock assembly and that the door remains closed. To check the door switch for continuity with a multi-meter, you will need to disconnect the power and remove the front panel.

The lid switch on a top load washing machine is a safety device designed to prevent the motor circuit from operating when the lOn some models, the water inlet valve circuit is controlled as well. If the lid switch fails, the washer may not start. The lid switch is normally located beneath the main top with a projection on the lid or a pin attached to the lid that will actuate the switch when the lid is closed. Verify that the switch is being activated mechanically and that any levers or actuators are not damaged or sticking. If the switch is being activated but there is no power being supplied to the motor or water valve circuits, then the switch may be defective

The start switch on some top load washers is often part of the timer and is activated by pulling out on the timer knob. Although not normally available as a separate part, the switch can be tested for continuity with a multi-meter. You will need to remove power from the appliance and then locate the correct timer contacts as noted on the wiring diagram. On some electronic controlled models, the start switch is a momentary contact type switch located on the control console. You can test this switch for continuity with a multi-meter when the push button is held in

SOURCE: Hi I have been trying to find a handle for my

Yes, follow the above instructions to open the washer. It happened to me last night. The machine was still locked and when I went to open it, the handle just broke off. You have to push the part in (where the plastic handle was) and use a screw driver to pull open the door (simultaneously). I was able to find a company in Toronto/Mississauga called Rapid Service who carry the parts and provide service for this machine. The door handle costs $55 and can be installed by yourself (at least if you are even slightly handy). I hope this helps others who come across this problem!

How to reset the machine

Reset Procedure for Equator / Hirundo ( EZ3612CEE / EZ2512CEE / EZ1612V )
If the door of the machine is opening you can follow the below reset procedure so that the machine will function properly but if the door in your machine is not opening you need to first get the door to open by following the procedure as stated in the link http://www.fixya.com/support/r4240518-door_not_opening_in_equator_hirundo
Resting the unit will make sure that all the memory storage in the chip will be erased and hence the unit will be ready for a new cycle.
Reset Procedure
  1. Make sure that the machine is turned OFF.
  2. Make sure that the door is opening.
  3. Set the dryer & wash temperature knobs to the off position (12 o'clock / pointing vertically upwards)
  4. Make sure that the door is latched properly.
  5. Set the washer knob on the Red Reset position and switch on the power.
  6. You will observe that the mode + Door Lock light flickers rapidly for a few seconds and then flickers slowly.
  7. Once the light starts flickering slowly turn off the power.
  8. Set the washer knob to the Green Reset Position and switch on the power.
  9. You will observe that the mode + Door Lock light flickers rapidly for a few seconds and then flickers slowly.
  10. Once the light starts flickering slowly turn off the power.
  11. Set the washer knob to the Grey Reset Position and switch on the power.
  12. You will observe that the mode + Door Lock light flickers rapidly for a few seconds and then flickers slowly.
  13. Once the light starts flickering slowly turn off the power.
  14. Set the washer knob to the Reset Position on Delay Time and switch on the power.
  15. You will observe that the mode + Door Lock light flickers rapidly for a few seconds and then flickers slowly.
  16. Once the light starts flickering slowly turn off the power.
You have now reseted the unit and the unit should work fine now , in case you observe that the washer knob/Dial is going round and round all by itself now please go through the link for fault codes for further diagnosis.
Hope this procedure helps.

Washer won't unlock

These doors are usually on a timer and so won't be released for opening until a couple of minutes have passed by after turning the machine off.

Assuming you've already allowed for this, try giving the door a good firm push (closing) on the mechanism. It may just have caught partially closed.

Washed a small load, now the door won't open,

Power off by removing the plug off the set for some time. Now reset and see if the program resets. If not check if the program controller is activated to re-run a short drying mode. Let the mode end and see if the door opens. If not there is a fault in the lock , latching or unlocking from the program controller in end program.

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher Model# 665.15912001

Yeah, I have a similar problem. I tried to go into a suggested diagnostic run, but that didn't yield anything. I tried pushing the Sani-Rinse and Air Dry buttons back and forth a number of times. Didn't help.
At first I thought the lock-on had accidently been engaged, but disengaging the "child lock" doesn't help. The lock-on light comes back on and sometimes blinks rapidly. I"ve counted around 7 rapid blinks at times and 3 rapid blinks at other times--in case that makes a difference. The control panel doesn't work--in other words, the dishwasher does not start, even when I can successfully get other lights to come on. I don't want to spend >$100. for a new control panel if that is not really the problem.
