How to replace door seal on washing machine Bosch Advantixx ?

How to Replace the Door Seal on a Washing Machine - Bosch
One of the most common faults of a leaking washing machine is a faulty seal. Thankfully replacing such a component of your washing machine is not a difficult task.
In the above video, with the help of our experienced team, we explain how to replace the washing machine door seal, and below we've compiled a simple step-by-step guide which takes you through every point covered in our video.
Step 1: To remove the door seal on any make and model of washing machine, you'll need to remove the entire front panel, followed by the soap dispenser and fascia.
Removing the panel and fascia is easy to do, once you've undone the screws holding it in place, whilst the soap dispenser should just clip out of place.
Step 2: With these components removed, clip away the kick plate, put the drain hose to one side before removing the retaining clip which holds the door seal against the front of the machine. Once the clip has been removed just push the seal inside.
Step 3: Undo the four remaining screws holding the front of the machine on, before pulling the front of the machine and the door away from the machine.
Once the front of the machine is off, you should be able to see the spring retaining band going all the way around thedrum. This should be easy to pull off, enabling you to peal the whole old seal away; once you've removed the old seal this can be thrown away, although it is advisable to keep the retaining band, as this can be reused with the new seal.
Step 4: You'll now be ready to attach the new seal, when doing so make sure that the drain holes are positioned at six o'clock; once you've done this it is just a case of working the new seal onto the drum.
With the seal worked onto the drum, put the retaining spring into its little ridge, before giving the seal one final check.
Step 5: Reattach all the parts back to your washing machine, attaching the door seal to the front of the machine ensuring that it goes over the lip, before attaching the retaining band on the bottom and sides.
There you have it, a step-by-step guide to replacing the door seal on a washing machine, helping it to perform to its optimum level.

Leaking from door

Hi Bungle
Door leaks usually mean that there is a tear in the door seal which is allowing water through. OR it could mean that you keep the door closed between washes which doesn't allow the flexible seal to relax.
If it's the latter situation, leaving the door ajar between washes MAY help.
If it's ripped/damaged you'll have to have it replaced. Not a job for the handyman as sometimes 'special tools' are needed.
Usually the front panel has to be removed to access the rear clamp and the counterweights removed..
Good luck

Replace bellow seal

Hello.

1 Unplug the power cord. Pull the Whirlpool Duet away from the wall. Remove the screws at the back of the machine using a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the top panel from the machine and set it aside.

2 Remove the soap dispenser from the front of the machine by pulling it out and depressing the button at the back to release it. Remove the soap dispenser bracket retaining screws, using a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the dispenser bracket out of the washer.

3 Remove the retaining screws from the control panel with a Phillips screwdriver. Release the locking clips and flip the control panel on top of the machine. There is no need to disconnect the wiring harness. Open the washing machine door and remove the retaining screws from the door latch, using a nut driver.

4 Remove the outer retaining spring from the bellow seal using a pair of needle-nose pliers to grasp the loop and pull it out. Peel the bellow away from the door opening, using your fingers. Push the bellow seal inside the machine after you release it from the door opening.

5 Lift the front of the washing machine and put a wooden block under it.
Remove the retaining screws from the bottom of the front panel using a nut driver. Remove the wooden block from under the washing machine and lower the unit back to the floor. Remove the screws at the top of the front panel with a nut driver. Pull the panel away from the machine and set it aside.

6 Pull the old bellow seal from the machine. Unplug the white and black hoses from the old bellow seal . Remove the spring clamp from the bellow and throw the old bellow seal away. Rub liquid laundry soap on the groove of the new bellow seal. Push the new bellow seal onto the washtub with the opening for the hoses at the top. Push firmly until it is on tight.

7 Install the spring clamp on the new bellow seal into the groove using a Phillips screwdriver. Plug the black and white hoses into the holes at the top of the bellow. Be careful not to damage the bellow seal. Place the front of the machine on the frame and install the top screws using a nut driver. Push the door latch through the hole and install the retaining screws.

8 Press the bellow seal into place around the door opening and install the spring clamp around the perimeter of the bellow. Lift the machine and place the wood block under it. Install the bottom screws with the nut driver. Remove the wooden block and place the machine back on the floor. Put the control panel in place and lock the retaining clips.

9 Install the soap dispenser bracket and the retaining screws using a Phillips screwdriver. Install the retaining screws on the control panel. Place the top cover on the machine and install the screws with the Phillips screwdriver. Plug in the power cord and push the machine against the wall. Install the soap dispenser drawer and push it all the way in so the tab locks into place.

Thanks.

The rubber ring on washing machine aquarius wf541 has black stuff and is really filthy all over. i want to remove it to clean it. how do i remove it.

Removing the tub shield gasket is not a simple matter I'm afraid, though not horibly complex. You will need to remove the top of the machine and unclip the fixing ring that holds it to the tub from inside the machine (This is a bit of a tight squeeze!). There is also a fixing ring on the outer edge of the tub shield gasket (Where the door seals to the rubber), usually a clip device that can be unclipped with a screwdriver. The gasket can then be removed. REassembly is a simple reverse of the removal.

HOWEVER, before you do this, you may find that having cleaned it as best as you can, painting some household bleach on the gasket and leaving it overnight then washing it down the next morning will be a great help (You might want to do this for a couple of nights in a row).

I need to replace the seal round the door but cannot remove the old one

Take the top panel off by removing the two screws underneath the lid at the rear and look down inside towards the front door edge of the drum you will see a very large metal hose clips holds the door seal on. A screwdriver will loosen the clip then the clip will slip off and then the seal can be removed and replaced

you need to remove the outer retaining ring which is a wire around the lip of the seal typically joined with a spring., using a small screwdriver.
the inner retainer is held together by a ratchet type assembly. prise one end of the wire by twisting the folded end of the wire out of the groove til it comes free.
replace the seal. fit the inner retainer together using some long nose pliers, prefferably bent-nosed. the outer retainer with a screwdriver.

How do i fit a new door seal???

disconnect from mains not that easy first time. undo clip holding seal to cabinet. peel off seal and push inside drum remove top.i remember seal is held to tub by a giant jubilee clip but varies with model. undo clip and remove seal complete. fitting is more difficult lubricate slot that fits flange of tub with washing-up fluid - essential start at top fit an inch or so of slot onto tub flange. work in both directions forcing slot onto flange with thumbs as you go round. refit giant jubilee clip. refit seal to cabinet and refit cabinet clamp. test for leaks on rinse as water level is higher. this job is a knack so persevere
