How do I get to use video chat or facetime on my HTC

you need an apple id to be able to do facetime. if its an ipod touch you have click on the facetime app and log in with your apple id.if you forgot your apple id it is the email and password you download apps with no if you cant remember at at click this link : Apple My Apple ID

Facetime is exactly the same on both new versions of the iPhone. While there are slight differences in the camera and video functions, when it comes to the Facetime feature, the cameras work exactly the same.

Assuming that you have facetime installed correctly on your mac, the program should have recognize the isight camera and open up your camera as soon as you run the program.

There is no support for aim video chat at this time. Tango, Qik and Yahoo messenger are the service that provide video chat support.

There are many solutions for chatting with your friends on a Mac.

• Facebook offers integrated chat with all of your Facebook friends.
• Apple's iChat is an integrated chatting client that comes on every Mac running OS X.
• Apple's new Facetime application is available on the new Mac App store (Mac OS 10.6 only). This offers video chat between, iOS & OS X users.
• Google offers a text & video chat application built into Gmail.
• Adium (http://adium.im/) is a popular chat client that will allow you to access multiple chatting services (Facebook, AOL, Google, Yahoo!, Bonjour on the Mac, etc.).

Unfortunately, Facetime is a proprietary Apple program, meaning that only iPhones and other Apple products can use it. On the bright side, there are alternatives. Many video chat apps exist for android(which runs on the EVO). A couple of the most popular ones are Fring video chat and Tango video chat. Simply download whichever one you'd like to try onto your phone, and have your friend with the iPhone 4 do the same. Personally, my experience with Fring was better, so i recommend trying that first. Also, something to look for in the coming weeks, hopefully, is Skype video chat for android. There is already a Skype app for iOS and android, but only the iOS version supports video chat. Android video support is said to be coming soon, and will probably be a very good option for video chatting with your iPhone toting friend.

You can receive video from video calls, but cannot send a video of yourself. You can use an application called Fring for video calls.

Make a video call
When you make a video call, you can see a real-time, two-way video between you
and the recipient of the call. The live video image or video image captured by the
camera in your device is shown to the video call recipient.

To be able to make a video call, you may need to have a USIM card and be in the
coverage of a UMTS network. For availability of and subscription to video call
services, contact your service provider. A video call can only be made between two
parties. The video call can be made to a compatible mobile phone or an ISDN
client. Video calls cannot be made while there is another voice, video, or data call
active.
You are not receiving video (the recipient is not sending video or the network
is not transmitting it).
You have denied video sending from your device.
1. Enter the phone number in the standby mode; or select Menu > Contacts, and
scroll to the desired contact.
2. Select Options > Call > Video call.
Starting a video call may take a while. Waiting for video image is shown. If the
call is not successful (for example, video calls are not supported by the
network, or the receiving device is not compatible), you are asked if you want
to try a normal call or send a message instead.
The video call is active when you see two video images, and hear the sound
through the loudspeaker. The call recipient may deny video sending, in which
case you hear the sound and may see a still image or a grey background
graphic.
To increase or decrease the volume during a call, press the volume keys.
To change between showing video or only hearing sound, select Enable or
Disable > Sending video, Sending audio, or Sending aud. & video.
To zoom your own image, select Zoom in or Zoom out. The zoom indicator is
shown on the top of the display.
To switch the places of the sent and received video images on the display,
select Change image order.
Even if you have denied video sending during a video call, the call will still be
charged as a video call. Check the pricing with your network operator or
service provider.
3. To end the video call, press the end key.

When a video call arrives, is displayed.

Press the call key to answer the video call. Allow video image to be sent to caller? is
shown. If you select Yes, the image captured by the camera in your device is
shown to the caller. If you select No, or do nothing, video sending is not activated,
and a grey screen is shown in place of the video.
Even if you have denied video sending during a video call, the call is still charged
as a video call. Check the pricing with your service provider.
To end the video call, press the end key.
To reject the video call, press the end key, or select Options > Reject. To send a
text message to the caller informing why you cannot answer the call, select
Options > Send text message, for information on the settings, see “Phone,” p. 74.
