My nokia 6288 requires a restriction code which i dont know

Follow the instructions given below for unlocking your Nokia 6288
Warning : Do not enter any wrong unlock codes on your Nokia 6288 mobile phones. If you enter over a certain amount of wrong unlock codes on your Nokia 6288 mobile phone, your phone may get hard locked and sometimes become unusable.
1 - Switch on your Nokia 6288 without any sim card.
2 - Don't bother as to what is displayed on your Nokia 6288.
3 - Compose #pw+CODE+1#.
4 - The Nokia 6288 would then display the message "SIM Restriction Off" and will be unlocked!

The letter w appears if you press the button star(*) four times quickly
The symbol + appears if you press the button star(*) two times quickly
The CODE you need to enter is the unique unlock code for your Nokia 6288

is it asking for puk code ,or for security code .....both are different .if its asking for security code send me the IMEI no of your mobile and i will send you the unlock code for your mobile....

Hi if you don't know the code you will have to buy it - the code is based on your imei and provider. It can be generated but nokias are hard.
Worst for worst bring it to a professional shop (like horizonwirelessonline.com) and have them do a HARD unlock - BUT BEWARE YOUR PHONE IS BB5 and is much harder than the older nokias

what carrier is it locked too? some carriers we can get the codes for nokia, id not we can do hard unlock - but you have to send it to us in canada - type *#0000# and let me know the info, we can decide from there.
