I would use the s-video connection even though I see word that the Sky+ box does not have automatic aspect ratio switching on the s-video output. You could also use an SCART to RGB cable but the picture quality will only be marginally read:un-noticeably better. Here is an s-video cable:http://www.rselectronics.com/Catalog/ViewPart.aspx?Part=CSV-06&MFG=QVS And here is the SCART to RGB: http://www.svideo.com/scartrgb.html

There is a menu item which has both the lamp hour reset and check air flow, etc. You must go into the menu and reset the air flow item. MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN THE DUST FILTER!! Heat is the number one killer of projectors and Hitachi's run "hot". I clean my projector once a week--Hey, I'm not rich. lol! Also, excessive heat will cause the lcd panels to fail prematurely and cause lots of other components to do the same.--Rick

reset the settings to factory default. make sure that if you are using the computer that you are on vga, not composite. if it doesn't get any better, check the lamp for bulges, black spots, or fogging; replace if necessary. if all that is ok, you may have fried polarizer filters on one or more of the lcd panels due to excessive dust and heat. if that is the case, you'll need to replace the entire optical engine.
