What is different between hp Pavilion a1430n p/n 51884327 and p/n 5188 2526

No, they are not the same or they wouldn't have different part numbers.

HP part number 51884327,

http://www.partforcomputer.com/PartDetail.aspx?id=4633

HP part number 51882526,

http://www.legendmicro.com/Store/5914_HP-5188-2526-MOTHERBOARD-AmberineM-GL6E---New.lmsp

Notice the motherboard chipsets are different?
BIOS program, version, and date, are different too.

Know what happens when Windows is installed on a computer?

Windows assigns hash values to certain major hardware components;
Processor
Ram Memory
Motherboard chipset
BIOS program, version, and date
Graphics chipset
Harddrive

Think of hash values as serial numbers, with no personal information attached. (At least that is what Microsoft states)
Why is it done?
To deter thievery.

Microsoft User's License states, "One GENUINE copy of Windows per ONE computer"

Change any two major hardware components, and Windblows will think it is being stolen.

So far you have changed the motherboard chipset, and BIOS program.

Now. What do you mean the,...'board got burnt'.....?
Power surge/lightning strike?
What makes you think the rest of the hardware components are good?
Just asking.

Post back in a Comment.

Where is the part number located on the motherboard for hp pavilion n5470? It isn't on the top right of the board. Do I have to remove the cpu and the heat sink combo to reveal the part number for

Most times it is located on a white sticker near the memory slots. One would think that is for the memory slots. Sometimes it could be anywhere and sometimes it will have MB on the sticker along with a series of numbers and letters. Sometimes only portions of the number you see on the sticker might be used to identify the board.

Try the steps below to be sure.

Write down the numbers you see on a piece of paper. Then go on ebay and in the search box type: HP Pavilion n5470 Motherboard. When the search results come back look at the motherboard part numbers and find one that matches one of the numbers you wrote down.

I looked for your board on ebay and only saw the following number for the motherboard: F2409-60903
One other thing you can do is to go into the HP Support website and instead of downloading drivers when you get the site up look around for links that will give you your warranty or configuration for your laptop that they manufactured it with. Usually they will have the motherboard part number listed in the original configuration.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP Support" or "Compaq Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look at the links on the webpage and there will be one for warranty or configuration, specifications, etc. They will require you to put in the serial number and part number located on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop. Serial number will have S/N: Part number will have P/N: followed by a series of numbers and letters.

I need to buy a motherboard for hp dv5 1270BR. I would like to know the part number, manufacturer and where to buy. Thank you!

If you are trying to replace a non-working motherboard, try E-Bay. Search by the computer model number. You also will find the board with version number on the old board.
