Krups water kettle just stopped working....

My cordless Krups water kettle stopped working: appears that no electricity is going to it (blue on/off light on handle doesn't light). Checked base - everything seems to be ok. Just stopped working. Any advice?

Replacement Krups kettle as this happened to our first one.  Exact same problem in the replacement after about 4 months. No longer on warranty!  This sucks.  Is there a simple solution?

Bought this kettle at LNT in Oct. 08, now having the exact same problem. Should still be in warranty but hate having to go through the shipping to service center, etc. We thought the handle was pulling away from the body causing the connection to be loose but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I have the krups stainless steel kettle which is only 3-4 months old. I purchased it at SAM's Club. It's stopped working - I press the on/off button and the power does not come on and the kettle does not boil the water... :-( !!!

I called Krups' customer service today and they do not take any responsibility - they say that per the S/N it's out of warranty....

They blame the SAM’s Club store for keeping their product long time on the shelve….

Whoever shops at SAM’s Club knows that most products sell very quickly….

I am SOOOO VERY disappointed with this product as well as their bad customer service !!!!

Needless to say that it’s my last time purchasing any of their products. I notices that this problem is a well known problems and many customers have posted their frustration and disappointed from this product !!!

Our Krups Kettle just stopped working as well.

It seems that the connection in the kettle between the contacts and the heating element is broken. What to do? It's fairly new? S Korteling

SOURCE: HD 4651/C Electric Kettle Handle switch lights but wont heat

This maybe the thermo fuse, and or the heating element that is defective. These parts must be properly replaced for safety issues.

Usually these appliances are not worth to service.

SOURCE: krups kettle leaks at base of pot

Unfortunately it's unfixable. A few recent Philips models do it as well and it's worst in hard water areas. Basically the cause is that a tiny bit of water gets into the bottom seam each time the kettle is used and leaves a residue behind when it dries out. Over time, the residue builds up and forces the seam apart so the leak gets worse.

All you can realistically do is hope that it's still under warranty and demand that Krups replace it, preferably with a different model. If they won't then you may have to exert whichever consumer rights exist in your country, but one way or another you need to stop using your kettle (it's dangerous!) and replace it with another.

SOURCE: Cordless Electric Kettle won't turn on anymore.

Sounds like dirty contacts in the base.
UNPLUG THE BASE BEFORE CONTINUING ANY FURTHER!!!! I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!
Once Base is definitely unplugged, take it outside and use a piece of fine grit sandpaper inserted in the contacts to give it a good rub all around. Also polish the contacts on the base of the kettle.
Blow the contacts out to make sure there's no grit remaining, and then plug in and test again. You might need to do this a couple of times.
However, make sure it is UNPLUGGED before you touch any contacts!

My Krups FLF2 kettle leaks at the bottom of the handle

This is a known issue with Krups kettles. If you are a handy person then you can remove the base and use a high temp gasket maker (auto shops have it) to add to existing silicone seal which goes bad after a couple of years.

Power cord overheats

The thermostat is not shutting the unit down and cycling it on/off as it should. This will cause the power cord to overheat and it will catch fire. STOP using this unit and either replace it or have it repaired. More than likely cheaper to just replace it.
