Temp control problem sub zer side by side

Dear Huum

I mistakenly pushed the wrong rating. My apologies. What I meant to say was that it didn't help because I just had an authorized tech replace both the evaporator fan and temperature sensor. Your advice was very good advice had I not already done this. I posted a further comment on the problem under the question.

Please forward this to the rating service at FixYa so that the mistaken rating might be removed.

    Well, Huum

I'm getting no frost and a consistent temperature of 30-34 degrees on setting 'one'. I am happy with this performance. But I don't understand why it gets so cold on that setting. The new probe replace ment was the newer model with two sensors. (The old SZ 532 had a single sensor). If I put a higher setting I seem to have a problem -- at eight I had frost on the back wall. I listened to the defrost timer (that is really only for the freezer, I understand) and it is quietly humming along. Because there is ALWAYS the louder hum of the condenser fan running I am not sure when the compressor is on or not. Should I just stop worrying and hope for the continued performance? Freezer, too, seems to be performing better, tho I didn't have a problem with that before. Thank you for your follow-up

Sub zero 690 control center readout

A picture would be helpful, but there should be two 2 digit numbers. the one on the top should be fridge temp reading somewhere around 34-40, and the bottom one should be freezer temp, reading around -2 to 05.

Why does my sub zer refrigerator have frost on the inside?

hi,didn't realize it was a sub zero,if the frost or ice is on the inside back wall of the fridge section on the left side you could have a freon leak in the evaporator coil,if that's where it is and if it's under 12 years old the coil is covered under warranty,if you write back tell me where the frost is and send the model number and the year it was made and i can help you out better,if it's a side by side open the freezer door and look at the top hinge and you'll see a tag there with all your info,if the freezer is on the botom open the fridge door and look at the top hinge and the tag will be there.also like i said on one of your other questions frost can also come from the door being left open,it's not from the controls being turned up to high, controls should be on 5 or 6 or if it's digital freezer on 0 and 37 in the fridge section.good luck and hope this helps you out.one more thing with sub zero, very important to clean out the coil and cabinet, you can shut down the machine or unplug it,there's a quick disconnect up top behind the white cover on the left side.get a shop vac with a brush attachment on it and clean the face of the coil off and all the walls and ceiling, next get a towel and cover the opening where the front grill goes,of course this is with the front grill off and the left side cover off, cover the opening and set the shop vac up to blow, stick the hose under the towel and blow through the coil, lift up the towel and vac up all the dust that blows out,do this a few times and then go on the other side and blow through the coil where the fan blade is,also grease sometimes gets up on the coil from cooking, the grease gets airborn and with the fan blowing up in the top the grease can get on the coil,if so get some grease remover and spray the coil down and if it's on the front grill spray that down too,you have to clean the coil at least once a year or your gonna have problems with it,the towel will keep the dust from blowing into your kitchen,it works for me.hope this helps and good luck with your subby,i think it's the best machine out there.

Can a refrigerator be placed in a garage that houses the electric furnace?

Hi, all fridge freezers work on ambient room temperatures, ie room temperature. Also it will depend on the classification of your fridge freezer. On a normal classification fr/free 70 degrees should be a constant maximum. On a sub normal classification room temp should not exceed 50 degrees. on a sub tropical room temp can be pretty much as warm as you like. On the rating plate inside your fridge freezer two small letters exist (N) normal. (SN) sub normal. (ST) sub tropical. Most fridges will work for a while in the wrong temp but will work too hard and pack up

Is it enough to power to 12 volge=ahagen 12oowatss dual 4 ohms

your Volfenhag 12" subs are rated at 1200 watts they are only 600 watts rms and the Rockford punch p4004 is only 200 watts rms so the answer is yes it will work but if you get a amplifier that pushes out 500 - 600 watts rms you will love the sound from subs
there is nothing wrong with the Rockford amp it just wont pound out the bass as hard but the good news is you will never blow the subs with it
when buying amps or subs make sure to look at rms rating that is the true power they actually have ie. (sub box says 1200 watt you think powerful but if you divide it in 1/2 you actually get 600 watts rms) don't get me wrong that's a nice rating. for a sub but you will want to match that number with the amps rms rating or lower. The RMS is what makes the car pound the higher the RMS the better
hope this helps

Haier Wine Fridge problem

Hello bano24
Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

You have a faulty cold control (temperature control)
The cold control is a temperature actuated switch and should open when the set temperature has been achieved. If the control does not open and turn the compressor off, it will continue to run and all items in the fresh food section will begin to freeze.
Check the control for continuity.
And or need a hands on service tech to diagnose this fault
