Check your CPU unit if your installed hard drive is SATA or IDE.To recognize weather it is SATA or IDE, is the IDE drive has pins with power supply cord attached while SATA dont have pins.

It might be difficult to find, but purchase an IDE type drive. Your system does not have data ports that can handle the newer SATA drives.
Ask that the store test the drive, if possible, as it could have been a customer return!

It sounds like you need a bigger hard drive, try remove other program that you can install back in again, backup the computer install a bigger hard drive and restore the backup file. I recommend using Acrois software for the backup. You can also download from Cnet a free verison on mini partition to resized the drive once you restore the backup.

if you want to increase the size of your computers hard drive you need to install a bigger hard drive
or if you want to increase the actual size of your computer you will need a larger computer case/frame /box

You can use either.

You can also use external portable hard disk, you can move all your software and stuff to it.

Better would be installing a new operating system to new hard **** with larger capacity, it will make your system fast.

You can also fit hard disk in your computer PC cabinet, you will just need to set it as "Slave" or secondary hard disk, to do this, setting is available on the hard disk.

I think the solution is: the grey telephone type cable goes into your telephone line, to your 'hard drive', which I think is a modem. Than, there is a bigger cable going from the modem to your computer; There must be a connector, on both end, bigger than the one for the telephone type. And finally, there is a power cable connected to your modem.

pull out the hard drive and look on it see if it's an ATA or SATA
the brand does not matter, just the connection type I stated.

Also, go to DELL.COM and support, type in your tag# and look for your system specs, it will tell you there what kind ok HD it has BUT best way is to pull HD out and look at the label.
