What is my gmail incoming mail protocol and the outgoing mail protocol?

If you are wanting to access Gmail with an email client such as Outlook or Thunderbird. Use the link below. The port is going to depend on which method you want to connect with. I would highly suggest using IMAP as all your email remains on the Gmail server and simplifies life when managing your account.

Forgot my Gmail password

Do you open your email in email client (outlook, thunderbird) or in web-browser? If the last, try different browser eg. firefox, Internet explorer, etc. If you are in google chrome (the best in this case), you can create additional users. Each "user" can operate there own gmail account independently. Open google chrome browser, on the menu left click on the "preferences", scroll down to users, and add new user. After that just follow the instructions. This way Your wife and you can have own chrome user account with independent gmail accounts. I hope it will help you.

Gmail does not accept password

Hello

Billy Reeves is my name. The first thing to do is reboot. Log into Thunderbird. (Thunderbird will download your email to your hard drive. Thunderbird receives this data from the Internet Service Provider that you pay for monthly, or yearly.

Now login into your gmail account.
Make sure that account is functioning correctly.

You can have your gmail forwarded to your thunderbird account by choosing settings in gmail.
Google offers a wealth of info right on their site.

Import contacts to gmail or export contacts to Thunderbird.

Don't be afraid to click on the Help tab.

Confirm with your ISP the settings needed for Thunderbird, such as POP3 for incoming and outgoing mail along with your username to access your emails. If you are using Thunderbird to get Hotmail/Yahoo/Gmail emails then check with their support pages for further help.
