SOURCE: electric oven fan

This problem is caused by one of two components, depending on the model, there is a thermal cut in thermostat that keeps the fan running until the unit has cooled down and on some models there is a four wire timing device that keeps the fan running for a specific time after the temperature drops, the fault can only be casued by one of these components. I am a recently retired appliance engineer of 20 years sounds like pure coincidence, check the fan for circuit at terminals, and / or check for movement of blades, that you have not got fan jammed, replace fan motor unit if needed, still cheaper than a call out if i have helped rate me work with safety all the time, unplug at all times when working on any item

Why does the fan not work in main oven while cooking, book says fan assisted oven, only see it working on rapid preheating to heat oven first. is it meant to work while cooking in main oven

A lot of ovens have a convection option, and the fan will only work in this position. Otherwise, just rotate your pan halfway through, like we always did.

The main oven is not heating up on the fan oven setting

If the fan is working o/k, then you need to replace the oven element, located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.

Main Oven fan stopped and not getting hot

When you say stopped, is it just the oven fan and the cooling fan is still running? Is the oven control knob still lit and is the main oven LED on?
Is the time set on the clock and is the clock set to manual?

Stoves 720EF - main fan not working

When you say the main fan, do you mean the background cooling fan or do you mean the circulating fan in the bottom oven?
Do you have the handbook for this oven as the wiring diagrams are included in it. If you haven't, you can take a copy from my BT Digital Vault - all I need is an email address to register you.
Looking at the diagram, the power for the cooling fan comes via the timer board. If, as you say, the fan doesn't work at all, the timer board could have gone faulty.

I have a Competence B1180, it cuts out after irregular periods of time, although sometimes it may even complete a cooking cycle, if turned off for 10-15min it will re-start, but invariably cuts out again...

Could be caused by either of following;

1. Faulty thermostat.
2. Faulty thermal cut out switch. (controls power to cooling fan).
3. Faulty cooling fan (not fan inside oven).

Test thermostat by setting thermostat to low temperature like 60 oC. If oven gets much hotter then its a faulty thermostat.
To test cooling fan and thermal switch take oven out and remove top or rear panels to expose components.
When oven gets hot the cooling fan should turn on. If it doesn't then check to see if there is a mains voltage present.
If mains current exist but fan is not turnig then replace fan. If mains voltage is not present then its the thermal switch.

Noise from fan when electric oven is first turned on

The fans are not normally repairable, but there is no problem obtaining replacements.
On a double oven, there are usually 2 fans fitted.
There is an external cooling fan usually fitted on the top of the oven, you would have to remove the top cover of oven to access it, and possibly the rear panel as well.
Then there is the fan fitted in the main oven compartment.
If you open the oven door as it is working, you should be able to determine if it is the fan oven or the external cooling fan that is the cause of the problem.
If you determine it is the fan in the oven that is noisy, then to undo the fan blade assy, you have unscrew the nut clockwise to remove it. as opposed to the normal way of undoing a nut.

Neff B1432 oven element and fan not working

If the element has failed again in such a short time , then I would suspect that the fan is the culprit.
If the fan is not working, then the element overheats, and burns itself out.
The fact that the fan spins freely, proves nothing, as the fan can be still faulty.
The only way to prove if the fan is faulty, is to remove the oven from the housing, and remove the rear outer panel of oven,.test with a meter set to ac mains and test the fan motor terminals to see if there is power there when oven is set to heat, disconnect the element first. ,if there is ,and the fan is not running then the motor is faulty..
If there is no voltage there, then problem is elsewhere, and you will have to investigate furher.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Temp display shows 444

If everything on your B1691N0GB oven seems to be working, i.e. all the lights are on and fan comes on in fan oven setting, but there is no heat from fan oven, conventional oven or grill, try turning your oven off at the mains, then turn on again. If the temperature display then shows 444, your oven is locked. To unlock, make sure the central control knob is in the "out" position, then press the fan oven and light buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds or so, until 333 appears on the display. Your oven is now unlocked.
