SOURCE: monitor doesn't work

I'd try this monitor on a spare computer. It sounds like the video card (motherboard integrated or otherwise)is not putting out any video information or missing sync signals. The monitor must receive these signals or it will go into standy/sleep mode. If the computer has integrated (on motherboard) video, check your bios settings to see if it is properly enabled. If it has a slot video board, then try a different video board. Your present board might be dead. Another possibility is a bad cable connection. check the connectors for bent pins. Assuming the connector is the standard HDB-15, it is easy to bend a pin over.

SOURCE: When I press the power button LG displaying chars for 1 second

Had the same problem, turned out it was due to a faulty capacitor on the inverter board, 680uF 25V (105 celsius rated). Simple to fix once you have the unit dismantled and the correct replacement part. Two screws hold the shroud on, but you need to be careful with an (old) credit card levering it off.

Unit is now working fine.

SOURCE: LG W1934S monitor. It displays an image for about

first you ensure that it is a problem with TFT or CPU. you can check it with another monitor. if it is working with another monitor then your TFT has been faulty.then you can repaired it from service center.

SOURCE: My LG 2353 monitor screen goes blank

shaylane_195, Good description of problem! But you left out one or two key things to tell me. Age of monitor? Approximate total "ON" hours of use? Is unit covered by LG (Lucky Goldstar) warranty? You and only you can tell me if the screen is really BLANK, or is it only BLACK? Do flashlight test to determine true state of screen! Can you see very, very faint image of WIN-desktop holding bright flashlight near your black screen? This monitor works!!! You just need to fix the possible (1) "cold, frosty looking, thermally intermittant solder connection on the "internal switch-mode-power-supply/CCFL inverter board. Yes, your monitor along with many other CCFL back-lit LCD units of all brands also could have some BAD, swollen, leaky electrolytic filter capacitors installed on the SMPS/CCFL inverter board which will need to be replaced with new ones of higher quality. Get back to me, lmistyrel on aim. or do additional comment on fixya, after you do some reading in my and other fixya tech's profiles to discover all options you as consumer/user have open to you. Bye for now. 12fixlouie

Lg w2343t monitor

try monitor on a different working desktop to see if it works, both on the external and internal video card ports. If screen menu buttons fails to respond, fault is either on menu buttons or you may have a burned out lcd screen, try a different monitor on your desktop pc to check its functionality. Monitor probably needs replacement.( It might not be burned out for you mentioned "no signal" error message appeared on screen, have the screen menu buttons checked)

No Sound LGW234T-PF

The LG W2343T does not have speakers. So you can't plug in a 3.5 mm audio patch cable between the computer's line out or headphone jack and the monitor. (Similarly, other devices can't provide sound to the monitor.)

Are you using a desktop or a laptop? If you have a laptop, make sure that the correct audio drivers are loaded for your OS and make sure that the audio isn't muted (look in the lower right on a Windows system in the tray for the speaker icon). On an HP laptop, we had to use the Component Services (Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative tools > Component Services > Services in Windows 7) and stop all audio services and restart them. Then reboot the computer to use the internal speakers at a reasonable volume.

For any unit with external speakers (required for a desktop, optional for a laptop) , connect the speakers to the audio out port (green for 3.5 mm for single connection speakers, see the manual for other speakers) or the headset port. Next make sure that the device drivers are loaded and correct for your sound card (or motherboard audio). (Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager). If your sound isn't active, look at the Sound header. Then choose Manage Audio Devices and the Playback tab to select the desired speaker option. (Again these are for Windows 7).

If you still have no audio, make sure that the speakers have power (USB cord or AC adapter plugged in depending on the speakers). If it is USB powered, try a different port or a powered hub. If you have an AC adapter, check if it is warm. Some speakers have power/volume knobs. So check if they are on (if there is an LED, that is an easy check). If still no audio, try a different audio patch cable, if possible. Otherwise, try different speakers. There may be a damaged wire preventing the speakers from working. Depending on the problem and if your speakers are under warranty, it may be worth fixing or not.

Documentation for the monitor is available here: http://www.lg.com/us/computer-products/monitors/LG-lcd-monitor-W2343T-PF.jsp . Click on the Support tab.

If you want to use a stereo receiver with RCA audio inputs, you'll need an adapter or a 3.5 mm to RCA m/m audio cable.

I hope this helps.

I have an Flatron LG W2343T monitor and I am running Windows 7. After over a year of trouble free usage, the screen colors have shifted to a blue-ish green. How can I reset the colors to the factory...

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If the color changes from a blue-ish green you can set it up using the Color Preset and change it to your desired settings. I've Provided the link for the manual of your LG W2343T Monitor so that you will have a guide on how to do it. Just click on Manuals and Documents then download the Owner's Manual. Color Preset is on page A14. If changing the settings won't fix the problem try to use another cable and see if it will works.

If you have questions please let me know. Thanks for using Fixya.

I turned on the computer and blank monitor screen.

have you checked if monitor cables are properly seated? have you tried a different known good video cable? also try a different outlet for the power supply for the monitor. lastly, try a different monitor and hook it to your tower. if it has a good display, then you should replace monitor, if still it has same issue, thenyou may want to consider changing your videocard.

Computer screen goes into "digital power saving mode"

You should be able to adjust the settings on the monitor to prevent it from going into power save mode, or at least to delay how long it takes before it goes into power save mode. Press the menu button and look for settings that might disable or change power save mode.

Also, does your desktop/PC display show anything before the monitor goes into power save mode? If nothing comes up, its possible that you have a loose VGA connection or that your video card/motherboard are defective in some ways. Try using a different monitor.

If the other monitor works fine with your computer, try changing/lowering the screen resolution. If in XP right-click on the desktop and go to Properties, and select the tab for display settings and adjust the resolution. If in Vista/Win7, right-click the desktop and select Screen Resolution/Display Settings and adjust it there. Then check and see if your newer monitor works on it.

If the other monitor also doesn't show any display, most likely the problem is either with your video cable or your PC's video card/motherboard, not the monitor.

Hope that helps. Good luck

My monitor screen is ok for awhile but suddenly turns a dull yellow color. I just bought it a few months ago.

Hi,
you must adjust the display settings in the software program that was being used to change the display setting.
  • If you have a flat panel LCD monitor, unplug the monitor power cable, wait about 30 seconds, reconnect the cable and then turn on the monitor. This resets the electronics on the monitor.
  • Make sure the monitor has power - the light on the monitor is on. If the light on the monitor is off, the monitor does not have power. Connect it to a different power outlet.
  • If the monitor has a detachable video cable, obtain a second monitor cable for testing purposes in case the cable is bad.
  • follw the another steps-
  • Replace the monitor power cable.
    1. Turn on the monitor. If the monitor displays an image, you are done. If the monitor remains blank, continue using these steps.
    2. Replace the video cable. Turn on the monitor. If the monitor displays an image, you are done. If the monitor remains blank, continue using these steps.
    3. If the monitor does not work after replacing the cables, replace or service the monitor
  • Thanks,
