I need the universal remote control code for zenith plasma tv z42pj240. my remote is a onn remote

A common practice in the TV industry is to include the size in inches in the model number. Often, a model will be made in different sizes, for example, z42pj240 may have a z50pj240 family member. They will use the same main circuit boards and remote controls. Check the list in your universal remote control manual for a variant like that.

My freesat remote just stopped working. Ive put new battries in, turned box off and on, disconnected and reconnected it but the remote just wont work anymore please help me

Have you got a video camera? Here is the trick to find out if the remote doesn't really work, or it's the TV that is not picking up the remote signal. Most remote use an infrared led to beam signals to the TV's. And this trick will show you whether that remote's LED is actually working. You and a friend or member of the family is all you need to begin testing your remote. Ask your friend or family member to hold the remote and you hold the camera on without recording. Point the remote about 5-6 feet from the camera. You watch the camera monitor screen while your friend or family member presses the On button or presses the buttons that you think are not operating the TV. With a dim room light, you should be able to see a flickering light coming from the remote in the camera screen. If it's hard to see, which I doubt, since remote infrared LED are pretty bright, you can turn your room lights off and try again. If the flickering LED from the remote is seen and is bright, then try all the buttons on the remote, or at least try the ones that you say are not working with the TV. If all is well, then there is nothing whatsoever wrong with the remote, but chances are that though the remote may beam out infrared light, it doesn't mean it is the right frequency for the TV. It could have lost the frequency and no longer sends the correct signals for the TV. However, the problem can also be with the TV remote's LED receiver. This falls into the hands of a technician's inspection on whether the receiving end of the remote is effective or needs replacement. In this part, you need to have the TV checked.
