Auto tune will only get channel 9 an their digital channels go and gem

if your tv is already receiving digital stations the it will receive 7 flix
If you are already using a set top box it will get 7 flix and all the channel 9 station as well
all you have to do is use the remote to get the on screen menu up, (press the menu button) --navigate around until you get the auto tune in channel selection auto or manual---select auto tune and let it go and all the extra channels will be programmed in

try using menu button to get the onscreen menu again and allow the auto tune to do the job
it could be a glitch or the way you tried to get the channel

go to the onscreen menu and allow the auto tune to do the job
there are also extra channel 9 channels and the one auto tune will bring all channels

1st click the "mode" button on the TV or remote then use the vol. up and down buttons to scroll around until you get to DTV mode then press "enter" on the remote you should get a message "please run channel auto scan" . click "Menu" on the remote the "Picture" screen will come up, keep clicking the vol. up button to scroll past "Audio" then "Setup" then to "Channel" then use the CH up or down buttons to scroll to "Air" click OK , then use the CH down button to scroll to "Scan all channels" then click the vol. up button. it then should start scanning, FYI you have to be fast!

Try re-tuning the channels, the original auto tune might not have picked up the correct frequencies.

Before tuning the set to auto tune mode, make sure the antenna or cable, whatever may, connected to its appropriate sockets at the back of the set firmly. To make it autotune:

Auto Tuning will completely re-tune the television

I find that with my HDB849 I have to be very carefull with the positioning of the aerial/rabbit ears to get all the channels to (ABC, 7, 9, 10, SBS and their sub cahnnels) to recieve them at all. Also once you get all the channels it is prone to digitization or pixilation at times due to bad weather/very overcast days.

Try the Teac.com.au for a firmware upgrade as this also solved not being able to view avis & images, listen to mp3's etc.

Overall the majority of reviews say the HDB849 is to be avoided.

Once set up correctly through trial and error and an absolute shitload of patience and re-tuning it seems to operate fine. Just pray you do not get a power outage or you have to start all over again.

Last point, try the teac 1300 number in Australia (or relevent country) and harras them for info whilst trying to stay calm and nice with the unlucky "tech support" person

Unplug unit from AC outlet for 10 - mins then plug back in to AC. Turn unit on select channel 3 turn off and back on.

What is the model of the TV please?

l. Push the "Menu button"
2. Push the "Menu button" again
3. Scroll to "Setup" and push "OK"
4. Scroll to "Guide setup" and push "OK"
5. Scroll to"No Auto Tune"
6. Click on arrow next to "No Auto Tune". This will change it to "Auto Tune".
7. Now exit, or just punch in any channel number.

You should now be able to go directly to a channel without entering zeros.
