SOURCE: DRYER IS MAKING A CONSISTENT BANGING NOISE WHEN RUNNING. DRUM IS TURNING AND DRYER DOES DRY OK.

Hi,

There are several things that can cause a dryer to be noisy. There are a lot of moving parts in a dryer that can cause noises to occur when they get worn. Several parts support the drum, and may make noise or vibrations when worn out. Many times a dryer will squeak just a little bit as it first starts. This should go away in just a few seconds. Make sure nothing is loose inside the drum. Remove the lint trap and look below the lint trap holder for any loose items that may have slipped through the cracks. The blower wheel is always moving and lint is constantly going by it. If it’s noisy, it may have gotten clogged with lint, or it may be worn and need to be replaced. Clean out the area around the blower. If it’s still noisy, replace it.
Many dryers use a center spindle to support the clothes drum. This spindle may be a ball-and-socket support, or it may be a shaft inside a sleeve. When these component bearings get worn out, they may make a squealing or rubbing sound. Replace this bearing when it gets worn out. Many dryers also use plastic glides in the front end of the clothes drum. When these glides are worn out, you may hear a lot of noise. If the glides are worn, replace them as a set.
Some dryers use rollers to support the clothes drum. If these rollers or wheels are worn out, they can be extremely noisy. You ought to replace the whole set at the same time. A belt that has been damaged or frayed may make a thumping or slapping sound as the drum turns.
The gas valve solenoid will make a buzz type of sound as it opens. The valve itself will give a little click as it starts the heat cycle, when ignition begins, and when the burner is turning off. The burner flame itself makes kind of a low-pitched roaring wind sound.

Thanks for using Fixya.

SOURCE: Machine makes loud banging noise during the spin cycle

The load is out of balance. Open the lid and redistribute the contents. When it's empty, grab the basket and give it a slight push sideways. It should move a little but, not free swing. If it doesn't have much resistance, the "snubber" has dried out and should be replaced. It is simply a piece of rubber in a metal bracket, that rests on the tub. When the basket spins, the snubber keeps it from jumping around.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. Since the suspension is ok and it is level, check your drive motor and spin bearing. Usually, these are the trouble parts when loud noises are associated with the spinning cycle. Your drive motor controls the spinning. Since the noise is during spinning, that is probably where your problem lies.

SOURCE: Drum makes loud banging noise.

Maybe the heat in your dryer over time has melted weak glue and loose components are hitting against the drum

You will need to check the=> 67003410 Damper Control If it is not working properly or blocked by ice from the freezer no mater what setting you choose it is going to get too cold or if closed too hot. Here is a link to how to test the auto damper=> HERE Not sure what the banging is caused by unless the fans are hitting their housings or ice formed around or near the fan blades, Can you tell me where the banging is coming from like freezer or below the refrigerator in the compressor area? Whirlpool top freezer refrigerator- compressor makes a loud noise

The compressor is that black casing you see at the bottom of your refrigerator - inside this sealed case is the motor assembly which stits on 3 or 4 springs that act like a cushion - you have a little gap at the bottom where the lubricating oil is present. Your springs have likely worn out and when the compressor shuts off the assembly is banging against the rigid casing make that loud "klonk" or bang noise. It IS normal for compressor to make some faint "tick-tick-tick...tick.....tick" when shutting off, but loud banging, bell sounds, etc, means the assembly is banging on the case from the inside - you can indeed live with the noise, your compressor will function normally, probably for months, or even years - it can also keep wearing out and one day the noise might get very loud (like a very high humming noise) - There is NOTHING that can be fixed, you either pay $400+ to change the compressor or buy a new refrigerator - If you DO replace a compressor usually the replacement will be noisier - Keep a thermostat inside your refrigerator at all time to make sure your compressor is still keeping your refrigerator and freezer cool.

Loud bang, unit stopped working

I have seen the caps in the power supply vent, which means they get hot and the top pops up and splits open, resulting in the "bang" sound. If you have experience in electronics then remove the back of the set and examine the power supply, looking for any caps whose tops are bowed upward, and replace.
