My SE W595 cannot be charged. I use USB cable and SE charger, still unable. It shows : BATTERY CANNOT BE CHARGED. YOU MUST USE A SONY ERICSON BATTERY. I have tried to udate the software and reset all but still the same. Before my phone cannot be charged, I actually brought it to the service center to repair other problems. But when I collect it from the service center another problem.. battery cannot be charged. Any advise? Please help. Thanks.

Seems Battery is not fully charged. Try to charge battery using universal charger then try to switch on the phone.

it may show charged but i would get your batterty checked out.

Search for 3-position rocker switch
Use google and google image search.
Quick search shows 16 amp switches.
Probably the switches inside charger control contactor or relay.
Or connect directly to a circuit board.
The board might be bad, or relay points burned.

No Worries, I am also a W595 user.
The solution is you need to update the phones firmware, for that you need the USB data cable of your phone. If you have it then kindly download this application. Install and follow the on screen instructions for the update.
Note: This will flush your phone, All the data will be lost: Phone will be as OUT OF THE BOX condition. So you can make a backup before doing this update. Backup can be made easily by the PC Suite, download that from here.
You also have a charged battery for an update, if your battery is drained then put it in some other phone and charge it. Or just get it charged my any means. A 50% charge will work.
Last but not the least, this may not work for you. But don't worry I also have other ways to do it. But you should try this one first.

this is sme serious sh*t im just kidding download sonyericsson update service run the program and it should guide u how to update your phone firmware and see if your battery i ok like change into another 1 if u have at home or ask friend tolend u his and see if it still occurs problems with the phone

You are using a wrong charger that is not original. Please change the charger or use a universal charger, you may damage your phone if you insist

has the battery been charged before the battery was flat? if yes this has cooked the battery and now needs replacing

No, the battery cannot be charged using the USB cable. You need the supplied battery charger. If you've lost it, you'll have to buy a BC-CSK or BC-CSKA charger from Sony.

my phone is the same model and did this but when i charged it, after about an hour it would come up with 'charging error stop ' and when i unplugged it, it hadn't even charged at all. and then the other day it just wouldnt charge, i plugged it in, it said it was charging but it wasnt. in the end, it worked by keeping the phone switched off and charging it while i was turned off. so try that, if not then i really dont know sorry
