Hi, I have a 'Simpson 2001 town house selection' wall oven (about 20yrs old) where temp keeps increasing no matter what the setting is... would this be a thermostat issue that I can replace myself or would I better off buying a new oven?

The default for most Miele oven is 375 - however this is an earlier model oven that only allowed (as yo said) ten degree increments - I am afraid that there is no solution to that.
370 or 380 would be your options
4 burners. 540mm wide x 600mm. Oven is 1040mm high at rear and 890mm at front. Good condition. Only selling because I am upgrading. Just to confirm is youre stove a Simpson Riviera ? I hope this helps
First of all, thank you very much Lindsay for choosing FIXYA today for your online technical support needs.
I'm Joe, and I will be more than happy to assist you with your service request.
Unfortunately a User's Manual for that particular SIMPSON appliance is no longer available.
However the problem is most likely that your TIMER has been set to AUTO which will prevent the oven from functioning. The timer needs to be set in the MANUAL mode.
Here are a few links to some other online resources which describe the various procedures for setting the clock and switching the timer mode which may help with your particular problem:
Just use your mouse to click on the links, which are the underlined and blue highlighted sections of text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the websites indicated.
I truly apologize Lindsay for not being able to provide you with the exact support documentation that you requested, but unfortunately on occasion the desired material is simply not available online.
I still hope this was at least somewhat helpful to you.
I would say that the oven element has blown. It is common especially if you have a fan forced model. Make sure the fan works before you go buying a new element as the replacement will fail early. Simpson ovens have to be removed from the wall cavity to replace the fan and the element. Make sure you tuen the power off before doing anything...
Give the parts supplier your model number so that you get the fight element ( and fan) if necessary.
This is failed communication between the EOC and the temp sensors located in the oven. i recommend testing the EOC(break point test on the pins) for its operational value and the temp sensors as well. replace any component that doesn'tregister.
I would also inspect the oven temp sensors for welded harness and fouled housings.
