Navigate the Administration menu
From the Home screen, touch Administration to open the menu structure. You might need to scroll to
the bottom of the Home screen to see this feature.
The Administration menu has several sub-menus, which are listed on the left side of the screen. Touch
the name of a menu to expand the structure. A plus sign (+) next to a menu name means that it contains
sub-menus. Continue opening the structure until you reach the option that you want to configure. To
return to the previous level, touch Back.
To exit the Administration menu, touch the Home button in the upper-left corner of the screen.
The device has built-in Help that explains each of the features that are available through the menus.
Help is available for many menus on the right-hand side of the touchscreen. Or, to open the global Help
system, touch the Help button in the upper-right corner of the screen.
The tables in the sections that follow indicate the overall structure of each menu under the Administration
menu

A white blank screen? That sounds like the virus changed your display settings. Click Ctrl+Alt+Del to get to the task manager. Press and hold the Ctrl key plus the Alt Key then hit the Del key. When the task manager opens up Click File at the upper left corner of the window then select New Task RUN. When the create New Task Window opens type: explorer.exe and hit OK. See if it starts populating your desktop icons and shows the start menu and task bar. If so, the virus changed your settings.
To change your display background click Start/Control Panel and look for Display or Appearance and Personalization. When it opens select the Desktop tab and change the desktop background. Hopefully the white will go away.
You may have to get into Safe Mode to do the above if the virus disabled the Task Manager.

In order to calibrate the screen on the Nuvi 1260T, you need to follow these few simple steps.
- Turn off the device - Hold the upper-left corner of the screen while turning on the device - Release the power button when the Garmin screen appears - Continue to hold the upper-left corner of the touch screen for 30 seconds until a white screen with "Press dot" appears.
This should allow you to calibrate the screen. I hope this helps!
Press the Play button (the right-pointing triangle). Touch and hold MENU in the lower right corner of the screen. (If there are images on the memory card, touch FUNC at the lower left corner to display MENU.) Touch English, then touch the curved arrow at the upper right corner.
There should be a reset button on the back or under the battery cover. if that doesn't work, then you can try to connect to the computer and reload your program. If you don't have the software you can find it at the phillips website. If you can't find the website email me the model and I'll try to find for you.
Are you using Outllok Express, Windows Mail or Outlook? It sounds like the x's you are seeing is blocked images. You can enable links and images in all three aplications through the options menu.
If you can touch the screen and get the menu, then after 15 seconds or so, it goes back to the 'images may appear reversed' message, here is what you need to do....
1) Touch the screen to get menu
2) Touch the "Rear View" button (lower left of screen)
3) It should beep, but not change from menu view.
IF it changes instantly to the 'images may appear reversed' screen, repeat steps 1, 2, 3.
This should fix your issue.
