I have a game stuck in the console-when you turn the switch at the back of the console on all i get is the red stand by light-when i press this the green light comes on for a second then the blue eject light flashes and finally the yellow light before going back to red-is my console totally knackered -please help !!!!!! :(

This is the feared YLOD. Yellow Light Of Death. I experienced this on my first PS3. There is nothing that you can do to it and avoid voiding your warranty. The only thing you can do is contact Sony and have them fix it. This will run you $150 plus shipping and taxes. There are ways to fix it on your own but as I said, it will void your warranty. hello, this may be down to overheating problem, make sure you've plenty of air getting to the console try standing it up. also do a fan test switch the console off with the switch at the back , then press and hold the eject button while switching it back on you should hear the fans boot up

When turn back swith solid red light comes on cant eject game or press on button in front. (nothing happens) The only way it works is by putting a disc in at this time.So before i turn it off I eject game...

There are many reasons cause PS3 disc stuck and console won't turn on. Your PS3 hardware need some kind of fixes. Send back to Sony is expensive. You better repair by yourself. I suggest you bought this guide, you can learn how to trouble shooting and disassembly your console and fix it at last. Good luck!

turn your system off by the back switch switch it up again when light turns red press eject button it should eject the game/bd/dvd

Try this:

Turn the console to stand by, you can do this by pressing the power button for 10 seconds.

When it is on stand by (a solid red light shows) hold the power button for 3 beeps, remove your fingers on the third beep which should be a double beep.

This should take you to reset your console. You should see 6 options. Select option 2 then the system will go blank. Repeat the above but this time select option 3.

Your PS3 should work after. Good Luck!
