Hi; do check the AC cord if still good.
if your LCD TV wont start , even if you press the power button , it has a power supply failure, maybe some capacitor has bloated or changed value, try to watch this http://www.youtube.com if you know how to solder, or even disassemble the back of LCD TV. if not try to call a repair technician.

My 3 year old Proscan 42" LCD TV picture suddenly
On the far left and right inside the back on panel are inverter boards. Replace or look for capacitors buldged, swollen, or cracked on their tops. Replace defective caps with original value and make sure replacements are 105 degree for longevity. Common problem, let me know if this helped.

42" PROSCAN LCD: THE BOARD BETWEEN THE PLUG WHERE POWER COMES IN & THE FIRST RESISTOR BURNT. DOES THE WHOLE BRD. NEED TO BE REPLACED OR CAN I REPLACE THE PLUG AND RESISTOR?
you can replace the plug and resistor but make sure you remove any carbon that may of happened,you should be able to scrape it off.if you dont have any luck repost with part number.

I have a 42" Proscan tv when i power the tv on it starts to make a buzzing noise, the noise is not affected when volume is changed and it says on for approx. 2 secs after tv is shut off
Is this an LCD, Plasma, DLP or CRT television?

This sounds like you have trouble with the powersource or flyback on your television, they usually are a couple of hundred dollars to replace.
