HP (5185-6477)
what in the world is that, use the service tag model number
and stated OS version running.
the HP manual tells you all beeps codes, HP.com
read that yet?> PDF book on service? free?
that is a mobo #
is it too much trouble to say out of WHAT?
you need to go in to BIOS
and set the boot device first.
and order. and not have CD installed if enabled.
the HDD must be bootable, is it?
if not do a fresh install of your unstated OS.

Hi there.
The best way to check if the processor is at fault is turn the machine on for a couple of minutes, then turn it off.
Disconnect the CPU fan and heatsink and feel the processor, if its warm or hot then the processor is fine.
In most cases its the bios chip which is down so if you can clear the CMOS or remove the power cord from the back and take the motherboard battery out for half an hour.
See if that gets you anywhere.
Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

hey i think this also happens when the IDE cable is faulty, try replacing it, seems funny but i just recovered from a similar problem
hope this helped
SOURCE: When i put the power
Base from the description of your problem its really not an issue with your monitor its with the motherboard or the video card provided that you have a video card connected to it or you're using the built in video on your motherboard.
By the way when you power it on do you hear any beep sound and if so how many beep sound that will help us check what is the real cause of the problem.
So first thing that you can try to do here is to clean your RAM , so take it out from your moterboard and use a eraser to clean the golden teeth of the RAM and then put it back in and check if that will make it working again, also double check all the connections on your motherboard to make sure nothing is lose.
After doing those things and still same issue this is really a issue now with your motherboard and may need a replacement.

If Internet Explorer suddenly closes when you view your mail Re-install your internet explorer, if you are using a version lower than Internet Explorer 8 then I suggest you upgrade to 8. You can find the file at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx If still after that the same thing happens then you need to run a full virus scan on your PC. I have written a tip on the best free antivirus programs, it can be found here: http://www.fixya.com/support/r6790239-virus_infection_best_free_anti_virus
