This is fairly common problem. Usually broadband problems are resolved by power down and power up this is called power cycling. Modem and router should be power cycled when ever you have problems with broadband. The phone (IP Phones) are as good as the internet service itself. These phones come with a modem which should be power cycled as well. Checking cables is part of the ritual.
good luck!

Why can I not change my BT Broadband to another provider. I can change phone but BT will not allow other providere to give me their broaband which has a great saving for me?

Hi
BT provide (and own) the telephone line infrastructure for this country, and all providers go through this infrastructure. Some exchanges have proprietary equipment in them belonging to one or other of the various providers which allows them to offer something that BT may not, ut they still have to use the BT lines, which they rent from BT Wholesale division. So if BT won't let them use the lines you are in trouble when it comes to getting Broadband other than BT.
There are options however, firstly try PlusNet, as I believe they are part of BT so may get better treatment than other providers. Secondly there is Satellite Broadband but this can be expensive, especially installation when compared with over the phone. Thirdly mobile 3g or 4g broadband if you have coverage in your area, but speeds are highly reception dependant and if you don't get good mobile phone signals then this option is unlikely to work. Also you would probably have to buy and install a 3g/4g modem router and I'm not dure how expensive these are.
This may not have been a lot of help, except possibly understanding the problem !!

My 91 z28 when it is cold idles very fast for to long and check engine light comes on and off intrmitingly untill warmed up can anyone help

This may be due to a bad coolant temp sensor or bad idle air control valve but i would have the computer scanned for codes, the codes will tell you why the engine light is coming on and i think thats why it idles high, the codes will help alot.

Bt hub 2.0, the internet light is red, but the telephone line works, although it's very noisy/crackly. have changed the micro filters but still cannot connect to the internet.

It sounds like you have a fault on your phone line which is affecting the performance of your broadband.

As long as you haven't added any more phones to your house without a splitter, then I would go with the problem being your phone line.

You might want to give BT Broadband (assuming you have BT broadband with the BT Hub) on 0800 111 4567 they will be able to advise you further, failing that, you may need to log a call with BT about the phone line itself, which is just 151 from the line that you are having problems with. It is always best to phone from the line that you are having problems with, so they can hear that there are problems with the line.

Hope that this information helps! :)

I I HAVE BROADBAND ON STILL BUT CAN NOT RECIEVE PHONE CALLS

Try installing filters on your phone line. Make sure not to put filters on the broadband modem. If you are using a splitter for the phone and the modem, just put a filter on the phone line and not the one going to the modem. If this doesn't work, contact your internet service provider (ISP) and tell them the problem. They should send a tech to resolve the problem. This has something to do with the POTS splitter outside your house.

The ninstrument panel will intrmitently stop working speedometer, tach and most all gauges the dash is not digital, the wiring connections are not corroded or loose, my 16 year old daughter is driving this...

The solder joints in the instrument panel occationally go bad, you can read about this on neons.org. The only semi-permanent solution is to re-flow the solder joints on the cluster, or swap it for a newer model.

Cannot fax using epson bx300f

This response is a little late, but it's because you all appear to have something other than an Epson C86, under which your problems are listed! Eoromarts problem is super-generic. It could be due to hundreds of reasons ranging from "because I was in Blackpool at the time" to "my wife had borrowed the modem cable for a washing line". Come on, you need to give a lot more information than that!. McFax - your problem is simply not understandable please be much more specific!.

However, we may be able to help Stretchyd who has provided actual information on his problem. You cannot send faxes by Broadband. You need a good old-fashioned dial-up modem (which we all used to use to connect to the internet before broadband). You clearly have one of these, otherwise you wouldn't be able to receive faxes.

So you should have a cable from your Broadband modem to the phone line, going into the broadband (DSL) filter ADSL port. You should also have a cable running from your dial-up modem socket into the broadband filter phone port (you may also have a phone going into this, so you will need a phone socket doubler to take the phone wire and the dial-up modem wire).

So, to send a Fax, you need to run your Fax program (usually the Windows XP fax module) and set up your system for dialling out. If you need help with this post a new connebt.

If you have a phone that works off a broadband modem, that is a VoIP phone. That will not work with a home phone line. I'm assuming Verizon is your local Telephone carrier that provides your local dial tone.
The broadband modem would have the phone number of whatever VoIP phone service you have.

NO DIAL TONE

If you are using the same phone line on broadband and fax, you may need to use a filter for the fax line. Also make sure the phone line is plugged into where it says "line" side of the fax and not where it says phone.

Hope this helps...
