I have a Ariens Zoom XL 54..we just bought the mower this year and have JUST changed the blades becuase it was skipping a strip when we'd mow. This is the first time I mow since they've been changed and it is still doing the same thing. What could be the problem?

Often problems with skipped spots while mowing is due to improper belt tension. You must ensure there is enough tension on all of the belts. This is done by adjusting the idler pulleys. They should be adjustable somewhere on the deck. Especially in the area of the one that may be slowing down when in high or wet grass.

I had the same problem and all I had to do is level the deck. Check the deck level on a smooth, level concrete driveway.

Something in the mower blade drive is binding up. That puts a drag on the engine and causes the slow down in RPM.

Sounds like the mower deck is lower on one side. I am having the same problem with my older tractor mower.
