Solution 2 is the best which is as follows..

The clean light sometimes flashes and just needs to be reset. To do so hit the keys in the following order. <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Cancel>.

The dishwasher will go through a cancel cycle (drain the tub) and will then let you start it up again..the pressing of the buttons takes several attempts. the lights on the front panel will all light up and the washer will go through a cycle. it will be fixed upon completion of the cycle

I did this with mine as was all excited thinking it fixed it - then it went through a very short cycle and then does it all over again. I can't seem to get it to do a full regular wash and my dishes are still dirty :((( any ideas??? HELP

  • LA Dad Sep 29, 2010

I tried this as well. Seemed like it was going to work, but didn't. The green light is no longer flashing, but when I try to run the dishwasher, it acts like it's trying to work but I don't hear any washing. No green light at all now. I guessing it's time for either a repairman or new dishwasher. I've had this one for 6 years now.

Hi, the reason why you are getting the flashing light is because the dishwasher failed to detect a 4 degrees rise in the water temp during the first 8 minutes of the cycle. Some reasons for this is a faulty heater, door switch,(heater runs through the nuetral side of the door switch), lack of water, d/w not filling correctly, should be just below heating element. Clear the fault by pressing heated dry,- normal,- heated dry,- normal. This will put you in the diag mode. Just let it do it's thing from there. It would help a lot if you run the hot water at the tap before starting the dishwasher after you clear the code..hope this gets you on your way..

This was the mystery..23 degree days made the water too cold in pipes...running hot water before cycling helped!

It sound like a water supply problem to the dishwasher. Check first that water supply pipe isn't bend. Water supply to the dishwasher is done through an electromagnet valve, loocated at the pipe's enterance to the machine. Test that it get power (with a multi- meter). In case it get power and dosen't work - You can easyly open the valve and clean it (from scale or other dirt). Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from the machine before doing it !!!!! Check as well for valve's coil resistance. In case you have no resistance measurement - you should replace for a new valve. Good luck !

OUTSTANDING!!
I had the exact problem and this tool worked perfectly.
Thanks a ton,
I saved almost $150 on a part (element) and a service call.
I originally called Sears Service for a call, I told them the problem and set a date for a week away.
After doing the arranging I called a Local Repair and the Service Tech told me of Fixya and mentioned a reset sequence to fix my problem.
He/They would have serviced it this evening, but he told me to first try the reset. I can hear it running a cycle as I type in the background.
Amann Appliance Service in Hamilton Ontario Canada was perfect.
Thanks a ton,
John in Ancaster

From what I have read elsewhere, the interrupt *may* have something to do with a thermostat circuit cutting out if the entry hot water is too high ( more than 145F) - it seems like a buggy safety feature i.e. the circuit board thinks that the water heater is overheating. The makers have apparently made changes to the control board to fix this bug but it costs serious $$$ to get a repairman in and buy the new board.

I prefer to use the reset code

Thanks for solving the problem my dishwasher was having!!!

Okay, I tried all of the above and each time I try to run the DW., it will stop at the dry cycle and the clean light flashes green 7 times and I have to start all over to reset it. I did call a repairman and he came out and said I need a new heat element. Then, when the company called to set up date and time to fix it, they claim that 2 parts were needed...heat element and the board and the whole thing was going to cost $279.00. I just had my kitchen remodeled and can't help but think this has something to do with when the put the DW back and hooked it up. It worked fine up until that point. The repairman says it's just a coincidence. Now I'm wondering...?? I just don't trust repairmen in any trade really.
Sorry, but that's how I feel being a woman and feeling that we get taking advantage of many times.

GFWH1200DWW GE front load washer won't unlock red lock showing

From an article I found online:

See if manually opening the door will reset everything. Unplug the washer and remove the lower front panel like you're going to clean out the drain catch. Once you remove this panel you can reach up behind the upper front panel and pull down on the small plastic pull tab attached to the bottom of the door lock assembly. This will manually unlock the door so you can open the door.

Now once you have the door open, plug the washer back in and see if you can start another cycle.

You will have to reset the console. To do this, close the door and press these buttons in sequence...

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.
