Samsung LE40R73BD 40 in. HD-Ready LCD Television Logo
Posted on Sep 10, 2011

Our samsung television has stopped working. when we touch the button to turn it on, it clicks and appears to be turning on (red light flashes) but then cuts out. it then immediately begins to turn on, red light flashed for 10 seconds or so and cuts out again. it continually does this and has to be turned off at socket to stop it. What can be wrong?

Possibly capacitor failure in power supply... shouldn't be too expensive to get repaired

Not Available Flashing

My Samsung TXN3271HF had the same issue where the poorly-designed Soft-Touch channel button begin to register phantom touches (leading to the "Not Available" message flashing on the screen).

The fix is simple: remove the plastic strip containing the Soft-Touch buttons and when replacing the strip, leave some room between the buttons and the TV's circuit board (you will see the circuit board once you remove the plastic strip).

Hope this helps.
