As soon as I press print on my computer the error light on the printer goes on and it won't print

Hello, if you change the date on your computer to 3 months previous (say), then reboot, you can probably overcome this temporarily. Obviously, for normal operation it's best to restore the date to current, and only set the date back when you want to print something.Regards,nicam49

If it copies ok, then the issue is either the way it is cabled to computer or the print driver software settings on pc.... How is it connected via USB? Check port and correct driver is in windows/control panel/printers. Reinstall.

The error light that is blinking is actually blinking out a error code. In the back of your manual under troubleshooting there should be a list.

On a printer this new about the only error you should see is a paper jam. IF anything else is wrong I'd just put it in the box and take it back. Rarely do you see something fail this new these days. It happens but not that much.

Once you look up the error code you will know what the problem is. It could be a cable unplugged or a paper jam etc. I can;t see it being serious.

This hapens when refilled cartridges are installed in the printer. To rectify the problem, look for the 'Resume button' normally black with a red circle around an arrow head pointing towards you. With the printer powered on, press and hold this button down for about 10 seconds. The error code will usually clear and the printer will print but the orange lights will still flash.

Turn the printer off.
Disconnect the AC power.

On your computer, click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Printers
Select the Dell Printer
Uninstall it
Restart your computer
Turn the printer on
Allow the computer to reinstall the device-device for the printer.
Print a test page.
