I have compaq nx7300 model laptop, laptop prob-laptop powering on but no display on lcd and external moniter, but caps lock led is working

pls replace 1000/25 caps

replace bad capacitor on power board (like 820/25v or 1000/2v)

You have mentioned that the LED's are glowing, so the Lap is working. Do one thing, connect the laptop to an external monitor (VGA port). If it is working on external monitor, it should be the problem with the LCD. Need to replace...

The star icon (*) means flashing LED, the bold circle means on, the circle within a circle means off.
The LED's that they are referring to are the NUM, CAPS and SCROLL.
It appears that you have a problem with your LCD. Try connecting an external monitor to your laptop. If you get a display then your LCD display panel needs to be replaced. If no display then your motherboard needs to be replaced.

I have lg flatron l1730s lcd black color monitor. I have problem with this. Power not come. some time when i connect it power LED blinking once then no display.

No screen usually means bad inverter or bad Lcd.Hook up to an external moniter and see if you have video.If you do then your lcd has gone out.

Did it display any video at all with boot options or HP logo? Any POST test or beeps after you started the laptop?
Try removing the power ac adapter and battery. then only boot it up with just the AC adapter (no battery).

Plug an external monitor and reboot. If external display also no display, your lap mother board is gone. Else your graphic card on the motherboard is gone. Replace the relevant part

there is someting loose inside the computer so you may have to open it and check for loose conections or pices that they may be loose or video conectors

Hi Jeryl; Im sorry to have to te3ll you but when the power went out it sent a surge to the external monitor . This blew the monitor which in turn blew your video display. This is a not so uncommon problem with laptop displays. They are very fragile. Especially when it comes to power urges. The only way you can fix this is to replace the monitor. Even this may not fix the problem. It could be any one of a few thousand parts inside your laptop. Best advice would be to let your local repair shop do the repair. Hope this has helped.
