MY DELL PC HAVE SOUND DRIVERS WHICH ARE NOT WORKING AND ONCE I INSTALL NEW SOUND DRIVER THEY SOUND AT A VERY LOW VOICE EVEN WHEN THE VOLUME IS ADJUSTE TO THE HIGHEST

Hi antonykionyo

DELL OPTIPLEX GX60 DESKTOP PC AUDIO/SOUND DRIVER

You don't say which Operating System you use, so my answer will be presented in general, Windows terms. If yours is a non-Windows Operating System, consider applying the logic and principles involved here to your own Operating System and, if in doubt, please feel free to add a Comment or Clarification to this Question, including information about your Operating System.

Check the status of the Audio Device and the Audio Driver in Device Manager.

Start > (My) Computer > (System Properties) View System Settings > Device Manager

This will tell you if the Audio/Sound Device is installed and functioning properly and if the Audio/Sound Driver is installed properly. If a red 'x' or a yellow question or exclamation mark appears next to the Audio/Sound Device, then there is probably a settings anomaly, fault, error or conflict with the Audio Device and/or its Driver.

AUDIO DEVICE SETTINGS
For your Audio/Sound Device to function properly, it must be set as the Default Device:

Start > Control Panel > (Hardware and Sound) Sounds Speech and Audio Devices > Sounds and Audio Devices > (Manage Audio Devices) Audio > click on the Drop Down Menu to the right of "Sound Playback - Default Device" (preferred Default Playback Device) > select "ADI 198x Integrated Audio" > Apply > OK > Restart computer.

AUDIO/SOUND DRIVER PROBLEMS
Re-install the correct Audio/Sound Driver that relates to both the Audio/Sound Device (ADI 198x Integrated Audio) and your Operating System, then restart the computer. Install the Audio/Sound Driver either from the Dell Drivers and Utilities CD or from the official Dell support website here:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R71579&SystemID=PLX_PNT_CEL_GX60&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2430&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=3&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=3&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=92933

If your Operating System is not the original Windows 2000 or Windows XP for which this PC was designed, then it is highly probable that no Audio/Sound Driver exists for that Operating System.

If you are committed to both this PC and an unsupported Operating System but all the other Devices and their Drivers are functioning normally except the Audio Device or you are using Win 2000 or Win XP but the Audio/Sound Problem remains unsolvable (faulty Audio/Sound Chip), then consider buying and installing either an internal 5.1, 7.1 or 8.1 PCI Sound Card or an external USB Sound Card that is pre-confirmed as being compatible with your Operating System. They can all be inexpensive. See examples here:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=5.1+7.1+8.1+pci+soundcard&x=5&y=17

I hope this helps.

Why? no sound from the speskers at all.

There are a few things that could cause no sound and although some are obvious I'll got through them all..

1) Sound is on Minimum

2) Sound is Muted

3) No Power to Subwoofer

4) Speakers connected Incorrectly or Faulty

5) No AUDIO IN connections to TV-IN or AUX-IN

6) Incorrect Input Source is Selected (See Below)

Connecting audio from TV

When connecting the audio output from your TV to this Home Theater Audio System, you will have the sound of the

TV output on all the speakers. It will enable you to enjoy the multi-channel surround sound capabilities.

Use an audio cable (red/white - not supplied) to connect the TV IN jacks on this DVD system to the AUDIO OUT

jacks on the TV. To listen to the sound, press TV on the remote control as the sound source that you want to play.

Connecting audio from an audio/video device

This DVD system provides analog and digital audio connection. You can connect the audio output from an

audio/video device (e.g. VCR, Cable/Satellite Box) to this Home Theater Audio System in order to enjoy the

multi-channel surround sound capabilities.

Use an audio cable (red/white - not supplied) to connect the AUX IN jacks on this DVD system to the AUDIO OUT

jacks on the connected device. To listen to the sound, press AUX/DI to select "AUX" as the sound source that

you want to play.

Or

Use a coaxial cable (not supplied) to connect the DIGITAL IN jack on this DVD system to the DIGITAL OUT jack on

the connected device. To listen to the sound, press AUX/DI to select "DI" as the sound source that you want to play.

Please leave feedback

Cheers
