While cleaning the fryer, water entered the gas input line. I removed the water from the line, but pilot will not light. Does the valve need to be replaced?
Excellent reason to use Dormont flex lines. If water gets to your combination valve (the thing with the on-off knob,) it should be replaced. Can you hear gas hissing? If there is gas at the orifice, it should light. check to see that all of the air is purged. Can you smell gas?

This is caused by a pressure problem. There should be an adjustment screw on the gas valve regulator. Also, make sure the pilot orifice has been removed and cleaned. There is also an adjustment screw on the gas valve for the flow of gas to the pilot.
If you didn't figure it out already you lost the orifice on the pilot light. It's a little metal cup with a tiny hole in it that slips over the end of the gas tube in the pilot assembly. The orifice controls the size of the pilot light. Need to get a new one or find the lost part.
Hi there. Pilot light on Millivolt Gas Valve can be adjusted by removing the screw (with pilot adj mark) just below the gas valve knob and tightening (to increase pilot flame) or loosening (to decrease pilot flame) the screw inside. However, make sure that the gas pressure is sufficient and the pilot assembly is clean before doing this. Regards.
Hi there. Check the thermopile, it must be clean and free of soot or any form of dirt. The gas pressure must be sufficient and all wiring should be tightly connected. Check also the hi limit, it should have continuity across its terminals when tested with an ohm meter. Regards.
Try first to clean the thermopile. If it has accumulated soot/ carbon, it will not sense enough heat from the pilot flame to generate small amount of electricity to energize the pilot valve and main valve of gas valve.
The pilot light is attached directly to the front of the pot near one of the burners. You will see one small gas line and a set of wires. Loosen the nut where the gas line goes into the pilot light. You will have to hold the pilot light as well as turning the nut on the line. Pull the line from the pilot light assembly. Sometimes the pilot orifice comes out with the line and other times it stays stuck in the pilot light. If it is stuck take a small blade like a pocket knife and pry it out. put the new one in and tight it all back up
You may have gotten water in the gas inlets. You can dry it out quicker by placing a hair dryer in the pilot area and gas valves. Disconnect the gas line first of course. Do this for about 30-45 minutes and it should be O.K. Let me know how that does.
