Re: My Dacor microwave does not pop popcorn on Sensor...
I had that problem. the solution is glass. my turntable is not glass and microwave popcorn must rest on glass to pop. just place a glass dish upside down and cook it on that.

Always place the bag of popcorn on an upside-down paper plate.
This allows more microwaves to penetrate the bag from the bottom.
Also always place food of any kind in the microwave off-center on the tray, NOT in the middle of the tray.
Not only does it cook more evenly (think of how you stir liquid) but it also prevent the same spot from being heated repeatedly on the glass turntable, which can lead to overheating and breakage.

Put any microwave popcorn on a up side down dish so it is about in the middle of the oven. Make sure you follow the "this side up" instruction on the bag.
Check the power setting it may be too high and are you useing microwave popcorn?you generally can not use standard popcorn in a microwave. The power setting required is on the bag of microwave popcorn
Are you cooking it this way, as shown in the owner's manual?
"Use an overturned 9 or 10 inch oven proof glass pie plate on top of the turntable when popping bagged microwave popcorn."
You can also use a paper plate in a pinch, but as always, never leave a microwave unattended while it's cooking, since some paper products can have impurities which will allow overheating and possibly fire.
This is a convection oven, so it has a metal turntable tray.
Microwaves cannot penetrate the metal from below like it would on a standard microwave's glass tray, allowing for even heating.
If you've lost your owner's manual, you can get it here.

How old is your popcorn? If it's over a year old in the pantry and not in the fridge it tends to dry out/shrible inside. Or...note that these days instructions indicate between 2 types:
regular hot air popping method and microwave friendly popcorn. You can buy hot air poppers cheaply at many resale shops.
Placing the bag on an inverted glass bowl or pyrex casserole dish worked!!!!! For 2 years, I have cursed my Dacor microwave for its inability to make popcorn (burns a hole in the bag, bag stays flat, almost no kernels pop, etc...) I read the last suggestion to use the glass plate and I am now sitting with a bowl full of perfectly popped popcorn - with only 1 kernel unpopped. The metal tray in the microwave conducts too many waves through the bag I guess.
Thanks for the solution!
