If i have this striaght two chargers and the green and yellow lights are on and the batterys will not charge and there 14.4v batterys correct . Then the batterys must be no good unless bolth chargers are bad and have the same problem witch is exterimly unlikely. most likely the batterys and are NG.They don't do well if left in cold condutions or hot for that matter but cold is worse . 14.4 V is is an unasul size and if its not a lithuim ion battery its going to be obisilete and unavaible soon if not already . Ihad the same problem with my RYOBI 7.2 volt can't get the batterys for under a 100 dollars thats one and a speical order i paid 39 dollars for the gun and 2 batterys . They make the money off resale on batterys . And you can do far better then RYOBI for a screw gun now a days

Battery won't charge on my ryobi 14.4v cordless drill yellow and green lights stay on

I had the same problem and found a solution on another forum...
Plug the battery into the charger. The yellow and green lights come on. Leave the battery plugged into the charger. Plug and unplug the charger power cord from it's power source a few times until the the red charger light comes on..... problem solved!

I think the "smart" circuit in the charger that is supposed to trickle charge before the regular charge cycle needs at least some battery power to test and start the cycle. If the battery is totally discharged, the test can't deternine the battery status and will not charge.... Plugging and unplugging the charger seems to bypass this teat and charge the battery normally. The charging process should work normally after this method.

It sounds like your battery is bad. If yellow and green are on for more than 15 minutes it probably a defective battery pack. See page 8 in the manual.

Yellow & Green lights stay on,battery will not charge

I hooked a 12 volt car battery charger to the battery for about two min. Then I put it in it's own charger, the yellow & green lights came on for about 5 sec. then the red light came on . About 30 min. later the green light came on and the battery is fine.

Charger not charging

Just was on a website for Ryobi drills and it states that if the yellow and green light stay on for more than 15 minutes the battery is fried. Couldn't find the link but if you do a search for Ryobi Drill 18 volt you should find the same info. It was as product review from Australia I think.

I also have a problem with the charging of Ryobi batterys. They seem to charge AOK with the green light coming on but the charge does not last at all. Not sure if the problem is with the batteries on the charger.

Charger not charging

Does this happen to both batteries or just one if it is both then i would suspect the charger is bad and not the battery
