Cleaning the screen cover on my sony big screen

When turned on the visual is blurry. the image color is only red. And when i adjust the color it doesn't work.

sony rear projection KP series are know for having bad utbes after while..ihad seen the blue tube goes on most.

Ur convergence it dead.Do u know how to solders? Tries these websites. Tv repair World.com or Tvrepairkits.com have it.Buy a convergence kit used what in that kit ur tv well get back to normal.The shop will cost u $300 for parts and labors.

It sounds like you have a bad GREEN CRT.
I would not invest the amount of money to replace the CRT. It would require a Qualified Service Person to come out to your home and remove the GREEN CRT ASSEMBLY and send it to Sony so they can rebuild it. Too much time and money would be wasted. I estimate it would cost around 800.00.

Had a similar problem , mine was like yours but with
different colors....fallowed the directions in that
blog....and it was fixed in 10 min :D

Let me know when TV warms up does it go to standby?
If yes, standby light would be blinking, let me know how many times it blinks?
And if TV does not go to standby mode, does picture remain with red tone?

you will need to replace the Green CRT your model uses the sony # 873365201 CRT. The other site I work for just got a shipment of Sony and RCA CRTs(Tubes) in on friday.
