    Hi e-guru,

I was unable to find the timer you speak of in the parts manuel. Could it be called somthing else?

  • thespecia243 Sep 09, 2011

    The model # is MAV5758EWW.

  • thespecia243 Sep 10, 2011

That is what I figured out when I opened up the control panel. There was a service instruction sheet inside and it gave instructions on how to check for service codes but when I followed the instructions all the lights were lite which didn't match any of the listed codes on the instruction sheet. One or both of these parts must be bad yet the board dosn't appear to have any burned smell to it. I'll just have to replace both parts.

This machine has no timer but it rather uses an electronic control board (part number 21002238) and an encoder (cycle selector part number 37001266) as "timer assembly". Click on the link below and refer to item numbers 11(electronic control board) and 41(encoder,cycle selector) in the diagram.

Why does my top load whirpool washer restart on its own after it finishes the last rinse and spin cycle. It does this on all settings, delicate, normal or heavy.

  1. Turn the washer off.
  2. Set the mode selector dial to NORMAL.
  3. Turn the dial counter clockwise ONE click (LEFT), clockwise THREE clicks (RIGHT), counter clockwise ONE click (LEFT) then clockwise ONE click (RIGHT).
  4. Now press the start button.
  5. All the cycle indicating lights should be illuminated.
  6. Press the Start Stop button once.
  7. Rotate the dial until Rinse, Wash, and Stop light illuminate.
  8. Turn the washer off and unplug it for 10 seconds.
  9. Finally, turn on the washer and it should now be reset.
  10. Run a test load empty to be sure the reset worked. If not perform the reset procedure one more time.

Power interruption and now my plug,n go seems to be frozen. Cannot set time or clear anything. Screen reads 9.80 or something close

I had a similar problem with my Bosch wall oven after a recent power outage-restart-outage-restart cycle that lasted only about thirty seconds altogether. The difference would be in that while I could reset all the things like day, date, time, etc., the oven would arbitrarily go off on its own and make up the day, time, date, year, etc., with no apparent correspondance to reality. Here's what I did: I completely shut down the oven at its outside breaker (you will need to do whatever it takes to remove the power from the 'plug-n-go'). I waited five or ten minutes before turning the power back on and resetting the various items. Two days have passed and there have been no more mind-of-its-own excursions into another time zone. Problem solved, unless/until another power outage cycle comes along. Hope this helps, or at least gives you an idea about where to start.

How do i perform a reset on a front load washer after a power outage? it was running prior to the outage and the door is locked.

Can you move the cycle along to try and let the machine finish? It may think it has not finished a spin or wash.
Otherwise, call a plumber.

When washer done rinse cycle lights flash and washer stops doesn't rinse and spin

Hello
Try reseting the machine.Unplug power for 60 seconds.
Plug back in,then turn knob to reset. Then try another load of wash or finish the one that is stuck before rince cycle.

It is possible the control timer is going bad.

I was able to find the instruction sheet on-line. It looks like you need to reprogram it. Here's the link to the instruction sheet;

JBP84TOHWW GE Electric Range Large Dual Element Not Working

similar problem after a power outage. Display would be blank until I turned ON an element (after which display would light, but no power to the respective element. No elements would heat even thought the dial shows power). Turning OFF the element would blank the display. I reseated the power cord and cycled the 50a basement breaker for 5 mins. Everything now works, but not sure for how long.
