Just did this myself .Need the right star screw driver to remove 11 screws holding the door inner liner then you can access the handle latch assembly. You pull off the 2 wire connectors to the switchs that are part of the assembly. Slip connectors onto new assembly.Position the handle part thru the door and re attach inner liner. 2 of the inner liner top screws also hold the assembly in place.Unfortunely , this didn't solve my problem of the dishwasher not turning on.
remove all the screws on inside of the door .pull apart the inner plastic part of the door from outside panel and look at the door latch on the top of the door.probably it will be broken or door sws are bad.
Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak.
Also,The latch on many dishwashers is adjustable. If your door is easy to close but difficult to latch, adjust the latch to let the door close more easily. If you can't see any way to adjust the latch, yours may be fixed in a certain position. Check for other reasons for the latching problem.
If the latch has worn out in a way that makes it impossible for you to close the door properly, you probably need to replace the latch.

If the door is not latching well enough try adjusting the spring on the tub it's the male part that goes into the door latch. If that doesn't help you need to replace the latch. It's inside the door. The switch is mounted to the latch in the door so to get to it you have to remove all the screws around the outside edge of the inner door panel. Unhook power before replaceing latch or switch!
.with a little luck you can try jiggling it for a while youmight get it ot pop open, if not youll needs to remove it from under counter. its held under countertop by 2 phillips screws (dropping the adjustmendt legs under unit will give you additional clearance to acess the screw head. after sliding d/w foward only 3 or three inches you gain acesss to the strike plate thats locking your latch. youll need to replace door latch and/or handle.
If the door handle appears loose, you could have a broken door latch which will prevent the dishwasher from running if the door is not able to latch properly. The latch usually has two micro switches that are pretty delicate. Not to accuse you of abusing your appliance, but if you're in the habit of slamming the dishwasher door shut, you could inadvertently break the switches in the door. The switch assembly and handle are sold separately, so you may need to purchase both. Let me know if this helps.
