QuoraThere is a gear within an analog watch that is used to change the date at the appropriate time. The gear ... Watches: What is a fair price for a authentic 1970's vintage "McQueen" Rolex Explorer II? Why does the day start at midnight?
Clcik on "user manual" to download the manual for your watch.
There are no instructions about setting the date apart from saying the date changes at midnight but you can advance the date by winding it past midnight. If you want to advance it more than one day, wind it back and then forward past midnight again. Repeat as many times as required until you reach the date you need.
How far back you need to wind the watch you will have to find by eaperimenting and observing when the date changes. You might hear a soft "click" when winding it backward, you can the wind it forward again.
mcdevito75 here, That sounds about right, each watch is slightly different, some watches, have the date change at 10:30 PM and some at 11:00 PM, and if your Tag also has the month or day to change along with the date, this could account for the date changeing kind of late. I don"t think it"s anything to worry about.
This could be caused by a couple of things. To fix this would require a qualified watchmaker to repair. The watch will need to be taken apart and the dial and hands will need to be removed to repair this problem.
Normally when we see this problem one of the wheels needs replacing. This can be caused by manually changing the date near midnight.
If you pull out crown carefuly, you will notice there are two clicks. The first one is for adjusting calendar (day or/and date). Next one is for moving hands. Pull out to the first click and adjust the date by turning the crown.
Actually in the realm of things that is close to midnight. But if you want this changed you will have to take it to a watch repair person because the movement will have to be taken out of the watch and the hands pulled and rest to change when the calender flips over. When I set up watches i usually have the day/date flip after 2 am so that most people never see it change ( because they are asleep lol)
The watch is set-up for a 24 hour cycle. It sounds like your watch is 12 hours late, so if you just advance the time 12 hours ahead, everything should be solved.
Check the instruction manual if you have one. Tag-Heuer watches move in 5 second intervals to let you know the battery needs replacing. A neat feature. Now you know that you have a real Tag!
ONE CLICK METHOD DOES NOT WORK ON MINE.
