SOURCE: Eureka Maxima Bagless brush not spinning in vacuum position
belt doesnt have to be broken, check the metal arm on the vacuum, see if there is build up of old rubber from previous belts, clean the arm that spins the belt and double check to make sure u have the correct belt
SOURCE: Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working, Does not Reset properly
The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.

There is no release, the part is a plastic handle release lever, you can find those at www.hesco.com, the cost is approximately 2.29 each, I have replaced more than 20 of these on the commercial vacuums for my cleaning crew, the part is easily broken and easily replaced. I always have 6 or more on hand.
Turn the vacuum over, remove the bottom plate, with a flat head screw driver punch out the old part. turn the vacuum upright again after the broken part is removed. With the body laying back on a hard surface, carefully push in the new part. Unfortunately, these are plastic, too bad they cannot design a more sturdy part for this.
SOURCE: hello. I have an electrolux
Hello! There are two solutions to this as the Glider model you speak of could be the more old fashioned type where screws on the bottom foot plate (ie where the spinning brush sits) have to be undone in order to get to the drive belt.
However if you have blue/red/Harmony Glider type model, the drive belt location is on the top of the hood where the floor selector is. There are three screws to undo here; one sits just underneath the main hose to the left hand side of the machine (and can be tricky to take out) if looking at the machine from the front, whilst right at the front of the machine, you'll see two other cross head screws which need to be undone. Make sure that the rotary height dial is out of the way - the top hood should then pop open revealing the brush. Then just take out brush by grabbing the beater bar and pull upwards gently. Take off the old belt, put on a new one around the spindle motor and then onto the beater bar and push the brush roll back in.
Unfortunately you may need brute strength for this as a new belt is often tensioned.
Dont forget to rate. Thanks.

Either there is something wrong with your switch. Which it doesnt sound like it. Take it to your dealer or call another one it sounds like the control valve needs to be replaced. I am a dealer 1-866-966-9350.
