We have an acer aspire X3400 AT934 desktop, bought 4 days ago. Will not play blu ray dvds even though it is fitted with a blu ray super multi disk drive. Acer arcade will not work, nor will windows media centre. The only thing we can see is that the dvd's end with a UPF file name which can not been seen as an option file in our program settings.

I suggest re-installing Windows and seeing if your DVD Drives requires a driver to read blu-ray disks.

SOURCE: acer aspire 6935g wont play blu-ray discs, will

Hi,

You need to download K Lite Codec Pack (Its Free) and you can install it via....... or you can try googling it.

http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

It contains all the different audio and video codecs. Your computer might not play it because it doesnt have a blue ray codec by default

Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

I need a way to play dvd's from China. My wife brought her english training dvd's from china but we can not use them on a region 1 dvd. My dvd drive is a matshita DVD +- RW UJ890

Hi, you are partly correct, your region 1 player is also in NTSC format, other regions are in PAL format...... So even if you converted your player to multi region or bought a multi region player it still would not play a PAL disk which the Chinese disks would be! The only way you could do this is to buy a multi region PAL/NTSC format DVD player.

This model of computer does not have a blu-ray drive unless you got a third party upgrade. In this case, you will need to track down special drivers, which can best be done by whomever sold you the drive.

Trying to play dvd but says wrong region soneynhv-dx350ab?

Hi, if its saying wrong region. then either your player or disk is incompatable. region 1 ntsc ( USA ) Region 2 ( UK ) et,c. check your players region coding is compatable for your country, and that you are also playing a dvd with the same region coding as the player. alternatively is to try and find a region free or multi-region solution. What operating system are you using? It sounds like you need to install the drivers for it.Because the machine will know its a cdrom first but it needs drivers to read DVD and the codex to read and write
