Hello.

This error may be related to your ink cartridges. If you are not using HP cartridges or refilled cartridges, try the HP brand.

Try resetting the printer by disconnecting from power source and waiting 2 minutes before reconnecting.

What occurred just prior to problem ? Any changes ? Any other error messages prior to this error ?

Hope this helps.

I have loaded a colour cartridge a and a black cartridge into my 8450 printer and now all I get is the 05f37c2b error code apear on the screen

Please try the following:
Remove the cartridges that you just replaced. Ensure that they are compatible with your HP 8450 printer. Make sure that none of the electrical contacts on the printer or cartridges are damaged and that there is no obstruction in the cartridge port. Turn printer main power off, and then back on with the cover closed. If the error code is now gone, open the cover and install the new cartridges as described in the manual. Also, did you remove the protective nozzle covers from the cartridges?
Good luck,

0xc18a0206 error on hp photosmart printer

Fro our Fixya community:

Try holding down the OK, Cancel, Black, and Color buttons all at once. While holding them down, press the On button to power it off (You may need another person if you lack large, coordinated hands). Turn it back on while still holding the other buttons down. You will notice it turn itself off before "booting" fully. After it turns itself off, you can finally let go of those buttons and turn it back on normally. This will force a reset and system maintenance.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Back cover open message

I had the same error message. I also tried every compartment... Here's ultimately what my problem/solution was...

I turned the printer around and fully opened the back cover. I found that one of my kids had somehow fed a small piece of paper/cardboard into the printer. When I opened the back cover all the way I could see that obstruction (which I hadn't seen before). Pulled it out, and the error message went away. Works fine now.
