The problem can be determined through the Wash Progress LEDs. The specific lit LEDs combination indicates an specific error code that tells what generally the problem is. But the exact positions of the lit LEDs are necessary in determining the exact code. Refer to the illustration below and post back the code or the exact positions of the lit LEDs. You may Google for the error code once you determine it, like "Fisher and Paykel Fault Code 37".

Fault code 49 is a cold water valve fault.

Check the wire harness connection between the valves particularly the cold water valve and the Motor
Controller Module. Make sure the connector is fully inserted and reseat
it several times to clean off dirt and corrosion build up. The valves are located along with the motor controller module under the console.

Measure the DC voltage across the cold water valve solenoid terminals when it is supposed to work. Replace the vale if voltage is present; otherwise, check the wire harness connecting it with the motor controller module. Consider replacing the motor controller module if there's no problem with the wire harness and yet no voltage is being delivered by the motor controller module to the valve.

3 lights and loud beeping

When you start your machine is the water just go stop go stop,
Just wait for the machine to display an error code on the wash progress lights and beeps constantly.
It could be the Rotor Position Sensor, out of balance switch or lid magnetic reed switch.
Your error code will determine this.
Is your machine beeping & showing a weird pattern of lights on the wash cycle, It is displaying an error code,
To read this error code you start at the red spin light & work to the left only add up the lights that are on. Red spin light = 1 2nd rinse light =2 1st rinse light =4 last wash light=8 4th wash light=16 3rd wash light=32 2nd wash light=64 1st wash light=128

Fisher paykel washer. turn on 3 progress lights up only, cannot switch off power button. When off the lid lock red light is on

this is a fault in the motor controller fault. the fault code number is 140. it may have a problem with the motor windings / RPS also. you will need parts from F+P.

Machine stops and will not move to next cycle--spin

Sounds like it it not recognizing that the lid is closed, could be a bad lid switch.
