Maytag dishwashwer problem

Thanks for responding, but I am talking about a dishwasher and what I am thinking is this is a pump issue.

Could a cracked impeller that is working cause no water to come out of the top arm?

Water is coming out the the lower arm, but not very strong. I'm assuming that there is a hose in the back of the unit, but what I'm not sure about is whether a bad pump that is pumping to the lower arm could cause no water from the top.

Hi try this In most dishwashers, the water pump is located under the lower sprayer arm. This component pumps the water through the dishwasher. The pump has two impellers, top and bottom. These, as well as other components, can become clogged with food or detergent. Here's how to disassemble the pump:
Step 1: Remove the cap that holds the sprayer arm on.
Step 2: Remove the sprayer arm, the screen, the pump housing, a bolt, the upper impeller, the food disposer blade, a spacer plate, the impeller hood, a flat plate, an O-ring, and the lower impeller. Lay the parts out in order as you disassemble them so that you'll be able to reassemble them properly.
Step 3: Clean the parts thoroughly with a mild detergent solution. If any parts are worn, replace them with new ones made for the dishwasher.
Step 4: Replace any seals, such as the O-ring or other washers, with new ones.
Step 5: Reassemble the pump, keeping the parts in order.
To reach the water pump, remove the sprayer arm and screen and then the pump housing. Remove the bolt, and the pump components can be disassembled.
On some dishwashers, the lower impeller serves as a drain pump. This type of system usually has a reversible motor; machines with nonreversible motors have drain valves, as detailed previously. If your machine possesses this impeller pump system, and the water will not drain from the dishwasher, clean the lower pump impeller. This may solve the problem. Otherwise, call a professional service person.

Maytag dishwasher leaks mdb4100aww

Unfortunately, if you can't get to it, you need a new machine. Normally you would seal with silicone or epoxy putty. The only thing I can can think of is injecting polyurethane expanding foam into the area, but go easy it expands for 10 minutes and you would have to shield any moving parts.

Most parts are obsolete.

My maytag dishwasher won't drain. It is not clogged. It just won't drain

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller.
Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

No water is coming into the dishwasher. What should I do?

I will have to assume the dishwasher turns on when you press the start button.

Very hard to provide solution without knowing the make and model of the dishwashwer.

Possible causes of water not coming when dishwasher program has commenced are-
1. water tap is not turned on.
2. the water inlet solenoid in dishwasher is faulty
3. the float switch at base of dishwasher (depending on model) is triggered and thinks the dishwasher is already full of water.

Happy to provide a specific solution if i know the details. Please post a comment.

Maytag dishwasher has a grinding sound during the

Hi

Many times a complaint of noises ( grinding or scraping ) can be traced to a cracked impeller in many of the common motor and pump assemblies used today. Sometimes a poor washing complaint is common after this wash impeller has cracked. Remove power first before investigating.

bc03dd0.jpg
The motor shaft has started to rust and swells out and this swelling cracks the upper impeller. Most times a new seal and impeller kit can cure this complaint but sanding and cleaning of motor shaft is required before replacing the new seals and impellers.

Please do rate the solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.
