Wireless printer I'm trying to install a Lexmark X6575 printer on my wireless network. I have a Belkin wireless router. When installing the software for the Lexmark, it finds my network and configures the printer IP address, but I'm still unable to get the port to configure. I'm sure it's to do with the wireless router as it all worked before when I had a netgear router.

Do you have a security WEP or WPA key in the router?

Also try to set a static IP address in the printer

Also, I had a HP printer that would not connect until I browsed to the printer's web page and set the compatability mode to use in Ad-hoc b mode .I also have a Belkin router.

Call the tech people at the router company they will walk you through getting it set up properly. If it worked before the change over, then part of their job is making sure you are set up again with the new system.

only thing thats worth trying is hold the reset button on the router in for 10 secs. see if it makes any difference. you could install a new firmware but not likely to make much difference for that kinda fault.. John

For best results, you should connect it directly to the other router with an ethernet cable.

SOURCE: Installation

User manual: http://www.belkin.com/support/article/?lid=en&pid=F5D8233-4&aid=8340&scid=942

Don't forget to make a WPA key to secure your network. (WPA is stronger than WEP encryption) also AES is stronger than TKIP.

Other than that you should just plugin your WAN (modem) to the router in the specified port and then plugin any wired connections, if you don't have any you need to use the wireless connection and connect to your router and set it up that way.

The setup address should be 192.168.0.1, or 192.168.1.1, or it maybe be different, in that case go to start>run>type cmd and then type in ipconfig in the command prompt, and the gateway address is the one that is the router setup IP. Enter that into your web browser (if the first 2 don't work, use the cmd/ipconfig method to findout the gateway address.)

After that you can refer to the manual since I dont have the same router.

Sorry if thats not enough help!

SOURCE: connect belkin f5d7130 to homehub 1.5

You need to connect all pc's and homehub to a switch so they can talk to one another. Then use the AP as a wireless access point to connect all wireless laptops, and connect the AP to the switch with ethernet cable, and you have a network. Just make sure that only your HH or AP supplies IP addresses or they will clash.

I have a Lexmark S405 that was installed on my network, since getting a new router the printer will now not connect to either my desktop or laptop, I have tried reinstalling software but neither computer...

Try to reset your printer's wireless network adapter. From the printer operator panel, press the Setup button > Network Setup > Reset Network Adapter to Defaults. The WiFi light on your printer will momentarily turn off then on to a solid orange light. You may then run the printer wireless setup utility on your computer to configure the printer for wireless connection.

I want to install the a Lexmark x6575 printer to my computer network by wireless but do not have the installation CD. I have the printer installed on the main computer using a usb cable.

If you haven't configured the printer for wireless connection yet, I suggest you configure it on the main computer first since it's already connected to it. You will have a solid green LED light on on the Wifi indicator of the printer once wireless connection is established. Then download and install the printer software in the other computer. Click on this link for the software: http://bit.ly/bOeC3E . Click on the Microsoft or Macintosh dropdown found below the page to choose the version of your computer's operating system. Then download and install the software. Follow the instructions on the software. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave it as a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.

Hi I have a belkin wireless G network adaptor. My trouble is that i lose signal. My router is only at best 30 ft away.I have to click repair when this happens. Any ideas?

Typically these devices come with software that not only installs the drivers, but also installs some software that takes over the role of connecting to the network. In my experience, this belkin software fights with the default windows wireless networking function. Windows will connect and then the belkin software will try to connect and it disconnects the windows connection. I found that not using the manufacturers software and sticking with the Windows default works best. Simply disable the belkin software and remove if from Start>Programs>Startup. If the drivers are all installed properly then Windows should automatically connect.

If this doesnt solve it let me know.

You did not say which printer that you had. Is the disk that you are installing from specifically say that it is for the version of windows that you are presently using? Your computer came with either Xp or 2000.

Belkin Network USB hub

hi dear

I've not had any issues like you described using the in-built Windows
wireless client. So my suggestions involves removing the Belkin software and
retrying with the built-in software:

1. Try and uninstall the Belkin client software
2. Check to see if the WZCSVC service is running
You can check this by issuing the following command:
a) net start
b) sc query wzcsvc

Both command should list some info about WZCSVC (Wireless Zero
Configuration) if it is running.

3. If your wireless card is installed successfully, you should see a
antenna-type icon in the system tray.
If not, you need to install the drivers for the card manually. Check
the Belkin CD for drivers.

4. If you can see your new router's SSID (wireless name) then you should be
able to see it as a non-admin as well.

5. Failing all of this, retry the Belkin client software and its
documentation for indication on non-admin issues or ways to use the above
mentioned Windows wireless client.
