Hi there, I've got a Whirlpool dryer that doesn't dry clothes anymore. The clothes get really hot, but they stay damp, never properly dry after several cycles and then smell mouldy. Oddly, when we replaced the exhaust hose because the original had many tears in it, this problem arose? The model number is YI.ER4634JQ1, type: C433-ELE-2306024, 4 wire connection. It's several years old now (we're tennants who inherited the appliances). We've checked and rechecked the hose connections several times, vacumed them out, everything seems to be find but it's still not working. Thanks for your help! Rachel

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

Whirlpool dryer times jump on high temp from 50 to 29 takes three cycles to dry cloths.

Check that the heating element is working. Then check the exhaust flue of dryer to make sure that it is not clogged. If it is the clothing will stay damp and the room housing the dryer will get hot and muggy.

Whirlpool gas dryer (LGR8648PW1) doesn't stop spinning in automatic mode.

More than likely a bad timer assembly. They are usually easy enough to replace if you have basic mechanical skills. The part can be ordered from repairclinic.com.

Hi mandolins23...
Sounds like your venting system is plugging up, try these suggestions below...

Check and clean if necessary your vent hose.
If you vent hose "seems" to be clean then, try running the dryer with the vent hose off and see if the dryer is not running hot anymore.
Make sure your lint screen is in place and has no tears or holes in it and is still firmly attached to the frame.
If you are running too hot you are not moving enough air thru the system.
It could be that the fan blade is plugged up.
The problem could be a large lint ball build up in the center of the fan or a sock, thin pants,a pen, etc. that has gotten into the fan by falling down the hole where the lint screen is normally inserted.
You have to find the air restriction to solve the problem.
It also can be a loose or worn out blower wheel/fan.
Please take time to rate me.

My dryer gets hot but does not dry efficiently. Clothes are still very damp after more than 1.5 hours. I noticed that the lint trap is not really gathering any lint.

your problem might be in the actual vent to the outside. If the vent to the outside from the drier has a clog and will need to be cleaned. Without the proper ventallation the clothes will not dry. I suggest pulling the drier out and removeing the vent hose that connects to the outside and clean it. Once this is done you shouldn't have any problems

Hope this helped

Dryer wont dry clothes

Vents can fool you sometimes they seem to be ok but still cause problems. Try running with vent unhooked from machine one time and see if it works ok.
Check for leaks air leaks around the door or anywhere else.

Hello, sounds like your cold water feed hose has got a kink in it. The machine needs cold water to condense the steam. Just pull out the machine and slowly slide back into place.
