Hi

F3 error in your GE microwave means that the keypad/touchpad is bad and should be replaced. However, before replacing it you can follow these step by step instructions to clean the touchpad assembly and see if it works:

1) Unplug microwave
2) Remove two small screws from upper face plate
3) Remove screw on upper side of control panel
4) Life panel and pull out
5) Identify flat tape-like harness connecting circuit card to keypad
6) Wipe down harness with an all-purpose wipe
7) Use hairdryer to dry remaining leftover moisture

8) After this put the keypad back if its not solved then replace it.

Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Daniel

Have a GE Spacemaker (Model # JVM1650SH05). Microwave works for a few minutes then displays "F3" code. How can you tell if the Touchpad or Control Board is bad? When it is working for those few minutes,...

Hi,

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

Part number WB07X10959 this part can run over 100 bucks. If you shop around you could get a good price.

Good Luck

My GE JVM1750DM blew an internal breaker or fuse when I attempted to remount a lamp lighting the stove top; it had fallen out of its mount. Where is the internal reset or breaker located, and how do

There are fuses inside the unit. No internal breaker. A lot of the time that damages the main circuit board too. Blowing the trace that supplies the power to the bulb off of the board. will probably need a new baord, or someone to repair that one.

GE microwave model JVM1750DM does everything except heat food. Worked this morning fine.

Chances are the magnetron has failed, "heats food" the other possibility is the high voltage capacitor and diode. Repairs will approach the cost of a new microwave oven.

What does f3 mean in the window of a GE microwave

Code F3 is for 'shorted touch pad panel'.

However, this is not always the case.

Try the following;
Press (and hold) the Clear/Power button to reset the microwave and turned it off. Press it again to turn the microwave back on. set the clock. If the touch pach panel is okey, your microwave should work with no problem.

Microwave Oven

I report from owner manual.

F3 means : Short circuit on key panel (your touch pad).
You get F3 error if a shorted key panel is detected for more than 60 seconds.
Solution: . Replace key panel (touch pad).

Try first unpluggign power cord for five minutes.

If you think that the problem may had been caused by water inside the keypad you can try using an hairdryer on the keypad, taking care not to melt the keypad plastic.
If that does not work, then replace the keypad.
