Hi

Programs that (fail to appear and/or) )will not remove in Add or Remove Programs or Uninstall in All Programs, do so mainly for 3 reasons:

The Program or , some element(s) of the Program i(are) running in the background and running programs, generally will net delete until and unless they have been shut down.

The (an) element(s) of the Program share(s) Data with (an)other Program(s) which is(are) itself(themselves) running in the background.

The Program (a protection measure against easy remote Control of an infected computer by unauthorized users or infective, malware, viral or spyware agents) has a settings option that can deliberately instructed during installation render the application invisible and unistallable in Add or remove Programs (typically associated with Anti Virus, Spyware Monitoring, Start Up Monitoring, and Data Auto Sanitizing and Firewall, Pop Up and other Data Barrier Software- i.e. Start Up Monitor, Filezilla, Deep Freeze, PopOops).

The files of the Program has in fact been deleted, but the program's shell remains in Program Files (probably as a legacy of file sharing with another Program.

In your case 2 one or both of the following remedies are likely to succeed:

Ctrl + Alt + Del > (Start) Task Manager > applications > highlight Running Program > End Task > Start > Control Panel > (Uninstall a Program) > Highlight Program > Remove all components of the Program > Restart Computer.

(My) Computer > Local C: > Program Files > Right Click on Program's Yellow Folder > Delete > (Continue) Are You Sure > Yes > Recycle Bin > Empty Recyle Bin or Highlight Program > Right Click/Delete > Start > Control panel > Unistall a Program) > Highlight Program > Remove > "Program have already been removed > OK > restart Computer.

Remove "ask" toolbar

There are two ways to remove the ask.com toolbar from your browser.
1.) On the left-hand side of the toolbar, there is an X which you can click on which will prompt the toolbar to ask you if you're sure you want to do this. Select the affirmative and it should be removed from your browser, however, you'll still have the actual program (it technically IS a progam, though it's an add-n of sorts).
2.) You can uninstall it by going to Add/Remove Programs in Windows XP or by removing it from the Programs and Features list in Vista/Win7. You can get to either of these by clicking Start/Control Panel/ [Add/Remove Programs OR Programs and Features]. Just click on the "ask toolbar" in the list and then click Remove.
If this helps you, please help me by leaving a great rating. I very much appreciate it!

How to uninstalled the expired AVAST antivirus from my PC?

Normal UninstallThe first thing you want to try is to locate Avast in the Add/Remove Control Panel and try to remove it from there. Follow these instructions to accomplish this.

1) Click on Start, Control Panel
2) Open Add/Remove Programs
3) Find Avast in the Programs list and highlight it
4) Click Remove and follow the prompts to uninstall Avast
Using the Avast Uninstall UtilityIf for some reason the normal uninstall does not work, you may have to download Avast's own Uninstall Utility.

1) Click on the following link and download the Avast Uninstall Utility to your desktop

http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear.exe

2) Double-click on the file ASWCLEAR and run it
3) You should see the following screen

avastuninstall.jpg

4) Click on the ellipsis and choose the folder where Avast is installed. This folder is usually in the Program Files directory. Ex. C:\Program Files\Avast

Be very careful which folder you choose since whatever folder is chosen will be completely deleted from your computer.

5) Once the uninstall has completed, reboot your computer. You may then try to reinstall it or another antivirus.

If for some reason the uninstall utility does not remove it, you may have to reinstall a newer version of Avast to then proceed to uninstall or you may have an issue where multiple antivirus programs are showing in the Windows Security Center.

Hope this help!
