Hi there,

The model number (label) is usually located either on the back of the TV, or on the r/hand side of the TV.

To obtain the best from your set, you ideally want the original factory remote. However, some Samsung remotes share the same functions.

Generally, the remotes are specific to each brand, but some brands of remotes have been known to transmit similar frequencies (i.e. Philips & Samsung).

You can only use a Universal remote, if the remote supports the Samsung programming codes (check the remote's user guide to see if Samsung codes are supported).

Cheers,

I lost my remote so I'm using the buttons on the tv directly.which button can I press for "next" when I'm watching a movie?

If you do not have a "next" button on set you will have to pound salt. Often the remotes have controls and/or buttons that are not duplicated on the set and the loss of a remote can be tragic.

Only cure is another remote - generics or universal remotes will not help because they only have limited buttons. Nada for menu, settings, etc.

My remote was working fine until i moved. I have Direct Tv and the remote from Direct Tv works on guide. I bought a new remote from Magnavox but it doesn't work my tv. what should I try? '

You have to program the remote control to synchronize with TV. If you wish to get moredetails; codes, three digits, four digits or five digit ones, check this link. Pull up older posts there. Setup code list and setup instructions to some popular model remote controls are given. Select the 'Timeslide' option from the drop-down list by the 'Sidebar' at the display window. It will make search easy.

Lost remote need code for universal remote

since most of the disney TVs are manufactured by memorex company ..... from your universal remote control's manual check the codes for memorex brand & try it .... if you don't have manual for your universal remote then from this link http://www.remotecentral.com/features/remotes.htm identify your universal remote & in that check codes for memorex brand & try it .... while searching answer for your question i have found that many people have same problem that is code for universal remote ..... but they never got right answer ......... & also neither same original remote control nor equivalent remote control is available (spare ) ...... so in case if you don't get right code then consider selling of this TV & buying new tv ...........

Just received a Samsung BR BD-P1500 2009 model, as a gift. No one code for the remote control work for my Panasonic Viera TC-L37D2 bought in 2010. Samsung "assistance" told me that my BR is too...

Unfortunately, Samsung tech support was accurate. Most universal remotes (and the portion of the remote programming to control other devices is the same program) only have codes for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed.

However, any universal remote that is newer than the TV (by that 6 month programming period) should control both devices. Low end universal remotes may not support all of the features of either the TV or the Blu-ray player. The remotes that can be programmed via a USB connection to a computer are the fastest to set up. (Alternatives: You can use both remotes when watching a movie or get a Viera link Blu-ray player that is compatible with the TV. For the second option, you need a device with the HDAVI Control (not above Control 5) connected via a good HDMI cable)

I wish that I had better news.
