I have comcast service through a scientifis atlantic DCP2100R2 modem. My voip.com phone adapter is a linksys SPA2102. When I bypass the voip/linksys, I can search, download and upload to others with no problems. But when I have the phone adapter installed, I am unable to share or stay online. I am getting a green light for a primary and a secondary connection in both winmx and 360sharepro, but d/l and u/l search for connection and always fail, I can get file search results on a secondary connection , but nothing in a primery connection. I thought it was a problem in my comcast modem, so I got a new one from comcast. Comcast records show my old modem was resetting over 100 times in 48 hr. With the new modem, I still have nortons security taskbar pop up telling me I am connected to a trusted network several times a day, AFTER I reinstalled the linksys. I did not initally connect it through the linksys and all worked fine. Everything is properly installed per installation directions on voip.com. I have tried re-setting both devices, no change.....btw, the linksys does get hot. I have read the other posts for linksys.....
I hope you can help me with this. I will be very appreciative of any help you can offer.....

If your planning to connect the phone adapter behind a router make sure that the following ports are open/forwarded on the router; UDP ports 5060-5061, UDP ports 16384-32767 take note that 5060 and 5051 one are SIP ports and must be assigned to the IP address of that was assigned to by the router to the adapter or the IP that was manually configured on it.
I found a link that could help you check the setting on your linksys phone adapter

Hope this will help you solve your VOiP problem...

This is NOT Vonage phone service...........it is voip.com
Windows firewall is turned off, using nortons only and yes ports are allowed. I only have the cable modem and the voip phone adapter, no router. I don't have any problem until I add the the linksys phone adapter.
All of my services have been out due to loss from hurricain Ike aftermath winds .....I will rate as soon as I have time to check out the link and port settings, thanks....
I was wondering if you have your windows firewall ports configured with all these applications?
