This is because iTunes will need to check the server that used to activate iOS for verification, to see if you are eligible for a particular update. Not able to connect to them means there's something wrong with the iOS software. The iOS has been modified or the version of iOS is no longer supported, mostly because the hosts file has been modified for some reasons.

Im stuck on a x and it says www.apple.com/support/ipod i tryed 2 connect it 2 itunes n it dnt do nothing i tryed all the steps and nothing works

Hello

Restore from Disk Mode, if that doesn't work you may need a repair. Do the reset, then after the screen flickers to the gray Apple logo; let go of both buttons and then quickly press and hold the centre and play/pause buttons. You should see a black check mark on the iPod screen. Plug it in and restore.

Ipod touch freezes at the apple logo

mine did the same thing. plug it into the computer. when it's open in iTunes, set the iPod to manual. sometimes when it's automatic, it'll clear itself out/freeze up until you plug it in again. this worked for me. it could be a glich, or their way of getting us to go onto iTunes more often.

Ipod touch speakers wont work

You may need to reset
To reset the iPhone or iPod Touch, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously at the same time for at least ten seconds, then the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black background. When Apple logo appears, reset is done.

Ipod touch stuck with apple logo on screen and doing nothing

Open Itunes on your computer. Unplug ipod.
Turn Ipod off (with sleep/wake and home button).
Hold home button down and simultaneously plug in the Ipod again.
Keep holding it (home) until the screen is an apple with a usb underneath it (Itunes sign).
Then in Itunes choose restore your Ipod.

If it's jailbroken, go through the Jailbreak process again.
