Hi,
If the camera displays Memory card error or No Memory Card when a memory card is inserted or any of the above error messages, make sure that the card is inserted properly. If this is the case, you may wish to Format the memory card in the camera using the Setup Menu option [Format] as shown below. Please be aware that formatting the memory card will remove any images currently stored on the card along with any other data. This can also be caused when images shot with another camera are stored on the memory card.

If after formatting the card in the camera the error persists, try another memory card. If this occurs with only the one card it is likely that the memory card is defective, if the error persists over more than one card the camera may require service. If the card appears to be defective you may wish to contact the memory card manufacturer.

Thank you!!

You might also try removing the little battery to the side of the regular AA batteries. I had tried everything else and still got the "No Memory Card" error. Once I removed the little battery, it reset the entire camera and the error message stopped.

I cannot see my picture or upload it. The screen says "read error"

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER

If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer.
Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Hello.

To do that, you need a card reader. Insert your memory card into a card reader, then:

Insert the card reader into your computer's empty USB slot.

Go to "computer" or "my computer".

Right click on the drive of your card reader and choose properties.

Click the "Tools" tab then click "Check now"

Check "Automatically fix errors" and "Scan for and attempt to recover bad sectors"

Click "start" and wait for it to finish.

That should fix the errors. If it doesn't, format your memory card.

Well sometimes when you don't "eject" the memory card properly, the card can have registry errors which makes it corrupt and you can't view the card properly. My suggestion is to put it back in your computer and try to reformat the memory card. This can simply be done by right clicking the card in ""my computer" and choose reform.

Forget easy share, just take out the memory card (SD card) from your camera and buy a SD card reader. Put this memory card in the card reader and plug the card reader in your computer USB. It will work like a normal pen drive and you will find all your pictures inside DCIM folder of your memory card. Copy all pictures in your computer HDD to be on safe side.

I think the easiest thing to do is to put the memory card into a card reader on your computer, copy everything off of it that you want to keep (excluding the problem files) and then try to delete the problem files using your computer. If this does not work, I would reformat the memory card, as these file seem to be corrupted. I would also suggest getting a new memory card, because they do go bad, and could corrupt pictures and videos that are important to you.

I cant transfer the pictures from the cam to the comp. I have installed the software from the CD and when i connect the cam to the comp and click on "start transfer", I get a "found 13....24...

I have found lately that some of the new computer operating systems are not at all compatible with camera firmware. The camera software appears to work but as you are experiencing the transfer of files doesn't function. I'm surprised that it's actually restarting the computer, which makes me wonder if you have followed the correct transfer work flow. I'm not saying this camera but some, you need to have the camera off while installing the cable between the camera and computer and then push and hold the playback button for a long second before you get the transfer screen.

The work around all of this is to purchase a card reader, make sure it is capable of handling the SDHC memory card, I would also suggest that you purchase a Multiple port card reader so that in the future the reader can be used with different memory cards.

The Card Reader plugs into a USB port on the computer and the memory card installs in the reader port. The computer looks at this as an external hard drive (mass storage device) and you can download your picture files to a folder you create in My Documents (computer hard drive). These picture files can then be opened in the camera software.

Basically all you have done is step around the camera firmware and ended any conflict in programing. I don't know if you are PC or Mac but the problem I've found started when Windows introduced their new Windows 7.

Okay memory card error two things one is the lock switch I'll give you a diagram. It'll show you faster then I can type.

Also you need to format the card, not delete pictures formatting should be done after each time you download pictures to the computer Another thing that you may be doing is interrupting the file treansfer if you disconnect the memory card before it's finished or hasn't been shut off. Make sure you have a fresh charge in your batteries if you are using the camera to download and if you are using a card reader do a safe disconnect or eject don't just pull the memory card out you are going to corrupt the card.

Recap diagram for memory card lock (see below) Format the card after each download format in the camera not the computer, make sure you do a safe to disconnect device or eject before removing the USB cable or removing the memory card from the card reader.

Message: Memory Card Error - Memory Card Parameter Error on 4gb SDHC card

I recently bought a DMC-TZ3 and have been researching memory cards. Several sites sell cards with the camera and list the card type. I would suggest buying one of these cards. Any cards larger than 2gb must be SDHC type SD cards. There appear to different types of SDHC cards, 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0. Check out Wikipedia.org for a description. 2.0 cards are not compatable for devices developed prior to 2.0 so that may be the reason for the camera problem. So far I haven't seen anything that states what type SDHC card the camera requires. I found a computer memory site that that sells memory that they say will work. There may be others.
