Cannot get lights to work on lawnmower the bulbs are good and we cannot find a fuse has never worked and lawnmower is new

I don't know of many riders that have fuses for the lights. Generally the lights run straight from the alternator with ac voltage which is why most lights do not work unless the engine is running. Without knowing the engine model number, you may want to check the ac wire that comes from the alternator and make sure it is putting out alternating current. There should also be another wire coming from the alternator but this wire will have a diode that converts the ac to dc to charge the battery. Hope this helps in some way.

WHO DO I GET A LAWM MOWER 4 CYCLE ENGINE TO PRODUCE ELECTRICITY , THE ENGINE IT IS A CRANK START ,AND IT GOES IN A GOKART AND I WANT TO INSTALL HEAD LIGTHS ,TAIL LIGTHS AND OTHER ELECTRIC PARTS

In order for an engine to produce electricity it would have to have a stator under the flywheel and the flywheel would need a ring of magnets. Take a look at the following link and look at an example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Briggs-Snowblower-light-flywheel-alternator-ring-gear-/280561041778?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4152bdc172

If the link does not work go to ebay and search "briggs alternator"
Most small lawnmower engines did not come from factory with alternator. Usually snowblower, riding mower, commercial mower engines had charging/altnator for lights. Usually if the mower had an electric starter, it would have a charging system(not very powerful however). You could be creative and attach pulley to shaft before clutch or power takeoff and attach small alternator. Look for one that has a built-in regulator to simplify things. Sounds like a fun project, good luck.

My honda riding lawnmower will not start. Battery is good, however when I put jumper cables on and jump the lawnmower the engine will turnover and will stay on only 5-10 minutes when jumper cables are...

check your charging system, likely your regulator, i would have to see it to tell you where the regulator is located also clean the magneto contacts
