SOURCE: replaced the key & cylinder and now it will
Hi. Sounds like the switch in the lock assembly is faulty. If you join together the two wires from the scooter to the lock assembly, this will be the same as turning on the key. This will let youknowif the lock was faulty or if there is another fault. If there is a connector on the wires then make up another connector that fits the one on the scooter, with a loop of wire to complete the circuit. You might be better off to buy a whole new lock assembly with the lead and connector already attached. If you are not confident working with electricity, then ask a local service technician to do it for you.Good luck. Neil.

Check the owner's manual for the location of the reset switch. It is usually located under the rear engine cover/shroud. Contact the maunfacturer's tech support line for troubleshooting assistance over the phone.
Has the scooter been stored for a while? If so, your batteries need to be replaced. The batteries contain a gel that needs to have current run through it on a regular basis (at least 8 hours once a week) or it will solidify. If you attach the charger, what will most likely happen is the green light will either stay green or go to green after a very short time. The charger will indicate the batteries are full, but instead of being full of pwer, they are full of crud. Your insurance may still cover the replacement if you can wait for the process to go through. Otherwise, you will need to replace the batteries on your own. Good luck!

Soutside how secure does the scooter have to be? Is it parked inside at night and does your partner leave it unattended for long? The reason I'm asking is because you can replace the keyed switch with a plain old on/off toggle switch for about 5 bucks. Just remoce the console unscrew the old keyed switch unplug the old switch from the wire harness and using the original connector splice the toggle swith to the connector tape with electrical tape and install in console. Check correct operation of the switch before you put it in the console. If it works ok install it and put the console back together and there you go a fix plus cheap too You can always call Invacare @ 1-800-333-6900 and order a new switch Hope this helps.

Your scooter has an auto lockout timer. After it sets with the key on, for a determined amount of time, ( all scooters times are different) it will lock out and you have to turn the key to the off position for 9 seconds and then turn it back on. A good idea is to turn the key off when not moving.
When you turn the scooter on just wait 9 secnd before pushing the throttle.
Good Luck
Tim
